Holmes has made some BIG catches, great. I would trade Holmes for Cotchery (5 years ago) in a heartbeat. My point is I would rather have a tough, never takes a play off, team oriented, fight hard for every yard player.

I have been down on Holmes for awhile now. His attitude has no place on the team. Whatever happen to the Curtis Martin type players that play for pride, passion and respect of the game.

Holmes is a pussy. He takes plays off, gets easily knocked off his routes and catches 1-3 passes a game. Holmes=Garbage

I hope he is not with the Jets next year.

    Get me MJD.

I want to know what Holmes has on the organization. All they do is tip toe around him and praise him no matter what he does.

FYI - PFT just reported that Santonio Holmes has apologized to Rex for his bad penalty after the TD.

He didn't apologize to his teammates. He didn't apologize to the fans. He apologized instead to his newest father figure who immediately forgave him, made him captain for his great leadership skills, and sent him back for dessert.

There were a lot of people who warned Jet fans that there was a reason that Pittsburgh got rid of him for what amounted to a bag of balls...and it wasn't his skill level. The guy is just one bad dude. A guy that the Steelers felt that would be worth the loss of talent just to get the guy out of town.

Well now Jet fans are coming to realize that those warnings were on the mark, but what should make it more troubling for Jet fans is Rex's "enabling" of him....and everyone else on the team.

Rex might be a brilliant defensive mind, and one hell of a PR guy, but he isn't LEADING his team. Even Herm showed more sack when he was the Jets coach. Maybe being liked is more important to Rex than making his team better.

Good luck on that $50MM you just threw down the toilet.

i'm done ranting after this, but i can't help but think that holmes had about 80% of his concentration on that GAY-ASS celebration from the opening kickoff, because only a cancerous ego could possibly think a celebration is appropriate at that point, even if it's someone ELSE and not YOU -- you fucking BITCH -- who has dug your team (T-E-A-M) into a 14-0 deficit.

what was his motive, anyway? seriously! what was the goal there? was he trying to irritate the eagles or their fans? because it didn't work. SCOREBOARD, FAGGOT!

if i were an eagles fan in the front row, and my dick was already hanging out, i would have sleepily urinated on him. otherwise i would have just yawned.

no, he didn't cost us 14 points. he cost us 7 and the defense cost us the other 7. but at least you admit to being an fucking idiot. unfortunately it seems to be more of a point of pride for you and not an admittance of something wrong.

I'd say it was at least 10 points considering we were in easy fg range, but i get your point.

I don't want them to get rid of Tone Time, but the guy is a prima donna punk and probably will be for a long time. No humility at all.

Anybody with a conscience, after his two early and idiotic and extremely costly mistakes, would have handed the ball to the ref, celebrated with his teammates, then gotten back to work.

He is a punk to the bone and will be probably as long as he wears a Jets uniform. But if he ever catches a game-winning Super Bowl TD, I won't give a shit about his behavior, because I don't root for the name on the back.

I totally understand why you're upset. I'm upset too. I too hate the finger pointing after every first down. I also don't like celebrating a TD when you're down by 30 points. Especially a taunting one that costs your team field position. That was immature, stupid, and selfish.

However, Holmes has incredible talent. I don't want to see him go, but I do want to see him clean up his act, catch the ball and not fumble.

    1) 1-3 catches a game average (partly Sanchez) (partly bc he takes plays off and only gives a fuck when he wants to).

    2) I am not sure what his YAC is this year, but I'm sure it's garbage because he hasn't taken a BIG one to the house once.

    3) zero hustle and zero toughness.
    A) takes plays off and fails to gain separation or make the big play
    B) I have seen him knocked on his ass before he even gets into his route. I have never seen him make a nice block and when he does get a deep pass play he never catches it and always cries for a flag.

I have no idea why this is the captain of my football team.

Santonio gets a pass. They are all entitled to a bad or two a season.

That celebration was disgusting and at that point you could see he didn't care about the team. He has won a lot of games for us though and rarely has a game like that. I think if he had another guy to complement him like Braylon did we would have a more explosive passing game..of course we would need some time for the play to develop and that falls on Hunter and the rest of the line.

I cannot believe that when guys screw up-------NO ONE GETS IN THEIR FACE / grill on the sidelines ! You never see it------does it happen behind closed doors ? I sure hope so--but we all said the same thing while watching the game-----but this guy did not know / think it was F ed up to do what he did ? Hell I got mad at Keller after his long first down catch celebration but Holmes blew that outta the water

Actually Holmes easily cost the Jets 10 points at least and possibly 14. If Holmes had caught the ball that was intercepted the Jets would have had in on the Eagles 7 yards with a third down and three (assuming that he would have been tackled right there). Assuming the Jets don't pick up a first down it's a gimme field goal. Even if Holmes just drops the ball the Jets would have still have third down from the 14 yard line within easy FG range. So to say that Holmes only cost the Jets 7 points isn't telling the entire story. Somewhere between 10 and 14 is the only way to look at it.
