For $10 million/year, you hold on to that ball on the fumble and the interception. Anything less and he is quite simply thieving from the organization.

Come on, he had a terrible game as did the entire team but he's been great for us through almost 2 years.

I'm starting to worry about the Holmes signing. He makes too many bonehead plays for a self proclaimed superstar, he is quick to call out his teammates but never ready to take any blame, and how many times have we seen him and sanchez on a completely different page. I said it all along we should have kept Braylon. Braylon and Mark were in synch, Braylon was happy to be playing for a team that wanted him and used him to the bets of his abilities. Santonio feels he's entittled to be treated like a king and the Jets should are lucky to have him. Braylon also had size something santonio does not. I also think there is always this tension between Sanchez and tone. I wouldn't be surprised if Holmes is putting some extra stress on sanchez. I would equate it to the Shockey Giants situation. Giants get rid of Shockey and Eli's game goes to another level.

I know a ton of people will rip me because Santonio makes some big plays at end of games but who's to say others wouldn't make those plays if Santonio isn't here. Santonio is not a guy you want on a team with a young QB.

He's not a great Captain but he is a good leader- or he was before they put the stupid C on his chest.

He seems like a natural leader to me. First memory that sticks out to me is Hard knocks when he tells McKnight to ask someone "what's the play", and then tells the coach, if he's not doing that, make him run a lap. Shit like that.

Orrrr maybe it was just for the cameras/the big pay check. who knows.

Lets face it----do I want Holmes on my team --yes
do I want him to be team captain or does he represent what a Captain should be or how one should act- NO!

In my eyes this team lacks team leaders or guys that will get in someones face---we have a few guys that say the rite things but I feel we are really lacking LEADERS or guys worthy of wearing the " C "

I heard that from many different places not just seeing it on Hard Knocks. I think that is why rex made him a Captain but I think the "C" went to his head a little.

You make a guy a Captain who exemplifies who your team is. The guy is immature and doesn't deserve the C. I never liked the first down act. It doesn't matter what the situation is he'll do it every time. It's embarrassing sometimes. I think Rex should have benched him yesterday. You really have to question his intelligence. Your behind and you saw what Johnson did and you still do what you did. Embarrassing.

Either you can't read because I have never commented once on whether he is a selfish asshole so your entire argument is irrelevant or you are too fucking stupid to realize defending that he didn't give up 14 points and that second td was on the defenses inability to stop the eagles in no way has anything to do with whether he is a selfish asshole.

not to mention the fact that nothing I have said even remotely excuses Holmes simply because the defense sucked, it simply places the blame for the points scored on the appropriate party. so, again, either you can't read or are too fucking stupid to realize those are two entirely different arguments and your responses continue to be irrelevant to what I have stated.

so, it is your call -- can't read or can't comprehend. please let us know which sect of stupidity you prefer but it can only be either or at this point considering your irrelevant responses.

For 17 mil a year youd expect better then 150 yards passing 2 interceptions and a fumble.

keller didn't used to do that stuff. when your captain celebrates every first down like he just found the higgs boson, that behavior is naturally going to influence other players.

I'm willing to bet this was more of a move of lets make this guy a captain and maybe he will take it seriously and become more mature. With that said the experiment failed and I'd say give it to someone more deserving.

I think we just have to accept the guy is immature and the best thing you can do is surround him with a good locker room that will keep him in check. In the off season I would stay away from signing any more prima donna players for this team. We already have are fill of those on both sides of the ball.

not as disgraceful as responding to a post with a claim in which that post actually states isn't being made.

I'm completely dumbfounded how anyone could make such a dumb fuck post. please explain in your sea-shell brain how a statement such as "not to mention the fact that nothing I have said even remotely excuses Holmes simply because the defense sucked, it simply places the blame for the points scored on the appropriate party" can be interpreted as defending Holmes?

though I would advise if you don't want to look even more ridiculous just don't respond at all, because nothing can help your case at this point.

That taunting penalty was something you'd expect the offending player to be called out on by one of the team captains. He's the friggin' captain.

What happens to Holmes attitude once his captainship is revoked? Hope this proves to Rex that he made a mistake. What if it was a close game and it really hurt us?
