Jet suck, and I mean SUCK against teams with above average pass rushes.

I was looking at the Giants messageboard, they dont think their team has a chance either. This is truly the suckage bowl. Both fanbase are pessimistic as hell about their teams. This is gunna be nuts.

Exactly, if we don't get down 28-0 allow the pass rushers to not worry about the run then we can keep more players in the block and help. This was not just because Philly has a great pass rush, it was also because they did not have to worry about the run game up by 4 touchdowns

Part of me hopes they keep 7 in to block every snap. Have Ducasse and Mulligan (I know those two names gives me a nauseating feeling too) on the line to pass protect. Let Holmes, Burress and Keller be the only receivers (with only 3 receivers at least they should not be in the same area) and max protect Sanchez.

    This.

Hunter needs help from Keller and/or dare I say, Mulligan. If Ducaese is lined up, he needs the same help from Keler and/or dare I say, Mulligan. Neither Hunter or Ducasse can hold their own alone.

Trust me when I say that i'm not doom and gloom but I though it would be after that Denver loss. I said it outright, three straight wins against the soft part of the schedule..didn't expect an embarassing loss but thought they'd lose none the less against the Eagles, leaving it up to the Giant game. Oof. It could end up as a play-in game for a meaningful season finale for both teams

I mentioned this in another thread, the Jets seem to be in denial about how bad Wayne Hunter is. If we do not revolve our gameplan around how to compensate for Hunter we are going to lose.

What are the other options at this point? I'm sure you remember that Ducasse was getting schooled by third stringers in preseason.

You know what it comes down to -- once you get in anything can happen. Packers were a 6 seed last year, Giants were a 6 seed in 2007, the Seahawks shocked the Saints last year - the Pats have lose 2 years straight in their opening game. Anything can happen so just getting in gives you a shot and I want a shot!

Also KC beat the Packers so we are better than the Packers. Enjoy the season...playoffs are still there for the taking.

    Game is staying at 1PM?

I fucking hate the Giants. Stopping their passrush will be a problem.

    What a HUGE game.

    1. Both teams MUST WIN to make the playoffs.
    2. Battle for New York.
    3. Battle for MetLife Stadium.
    4. Both coming off terrible losses to below .500 teams.
    5. Its Christmas Eve.
    6. Plax vs. his former team who wanted nothing to do with him after prison.
    7. Coughlin likely coaching for his job.
    8. Any other storylines?

It is going to turn into a Sanchez-Eli comparison. No way ESPN goes a whole week without trying to turn this into that

"Scary" doesn't even begin to do justice to what kind of nightmare that matchup is.

Defensively we match up great against the Giants--neither of their backs can get outside with much speed, they rely heavily on their wideouts, Eli isn't mobile at all--but offensively I'm really not sure if we can protect Sanchez.

If we find a way to slow the Giants pass rush, we're gonna win. If not, we're probably fucked. It's really that simple.
