Well, we sort of got one with the Cowboys beating TB last night (1/2 way to eliminating the Iggles) and the Giants at 1 PM vs. Washington can finish the job.

Lots of key AFC games to focus on before/during Jets 4 PM game.

    Rooting interests:

Rams over Bengals (good friend Kellen Clemens to help us out?)
    Colts over Titans
    Lions over Raiders

It's a long shot, but the Jets can get the 2nd seed and a bye if they win out and New England, Baltimore, and PIttsburgh lose all of their remaining games.

    Raiders lose to Lions.
I think Bengals and Titans both win...so we'd be tied in case we lost but in terms of tie-breakers we'd be down.

Hey, man, you never know! With the way things have been in the NFL this season, anything's possible.

Yeah, there's a good chance that all of those AFC teams win today so it's critical that we beat the Iggles.

What I wonder is: if we beat the Iggles today but LOSE to the Giants (or vice-versa)...what would need to happen for us to control our destiny vs. Miami in Week 17 ? Or are there too many variables, esp. conference record-wise, to figure that out right now ?

I think as long as Tennessee and Oakland drop 1 of their last 3, we can afford to drop either todays game or next weeks game (obv not both), and we would still control our own destiny vs Miami. I believe we own the tiebreaker over Cincy at 10-6. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that.

We can take a loss the analysts say, but it has to be an NFC team. So our conference record at the moment is tied with the Bengals at 6-5 and if Titans win out they'd get it because they're at the moment 5-4. So we need the titans to lose...but it's more crucial we just win out.

    How great would that be?

It would also be entertaining to listen to everyone in the media talk about how the Jets "backed in" to the #2 seed :breakdance:

If that isn't backing in I don't know what is. Won't happen either way

Rams and colts are just too weak, watching the games and kellen has started ok but so has Dalton-green

You don't back in to anything by finishing 6-0 down the stretch. That said, I agree that it's not a realistic scenario.

NE could lose this game because I think Denver's defense is very, very good. But I dont see them losing their next two games.

I think Brady and Gronk are bringing them down to earth...

if the bengals, titans, and raiders lose, coupled with a jet win, where does that put us for next week? win and in the playoffs?

i know, getting way ahead of myself.

Yes, it is win and in vs. the Giants in that case.

Titans loss would be huge here. I thought they could win out, but not if they lose today.

The Bengals also will lose to the Ravens week 17. We could have this race nearly locked up by the end of today.
