    When the Jets get in at 6, I'll take my chances against either TJ Yates of the Texans or Tim Teblow of the Broncos in the first round

    Yeah, no doubt. Even though I'd like the Jets chances, especially if they won out, you never know.

    It's not the same situation, but I'm sure the Saints were licking their chops when they drew a 7-9 Seattle team last year, and that didn't turn out so well. Careful what you wish for indeed.

    1)Broncos
    2)Texans

    Texans without Schaub and Mario Williams (and who knows about Andre Johnson) don't scare me that much.

    Patriots, Ravens, and Steelers do.

    THIS is the key point. We still aren't guaranteed to get into the playoffs. We aren't great, and we have 3 tough games left. YES, all 3 will be tough.

    Far from it, I agree.

    Keep in mind we're underdogs tomorrow and we're likely to be underdogs against the Giants.

    It'd be unexpected, IMO, to sweep the games, and if we drop one, we need help to get in.

    I agree.

    I'm just curious.....if we go from 2 straight conference title games to missing the playoffs altogether, who becomes the fall guy? There is always one.

    The obvious choice is Denver, and we probably won't play them, so give me Houston.

    I think Yates is solid for a rookie, but there's going to be some tape built up on him, and when the playoff pressure comes, I could see him hitting a rookie wall against top defenses.

    Here are Houston's wins this year.

    IND
    @MIA
    PIT
    @TEN
    JAC
    CLE
    @TB
    JAC
    ATL
    @CIN

    Most of those wins are against awful teams. The last 2 wins are impressive because they were done with Yates, but there's now going to be film on him. Come playoff time, I could see him being figured out to an extent. The Jets can play them man up, with Revis on Andre, and focus on the run. I'm sure we're not the first team that has thought of that, but I'll take my chances against them.

    Their defense is great this year. Jonathan Joseph has played great football this year, and the whole defense has stepped up. Still, the combination of rookie QB and playoff inexperience is enough for them to earn the nod.

    Sadly, I looked at that and realized the Jets wins this year against teams with winning records were against:

    Cowboys (8-6)

    Yep, that's it. Not too impressive.

    Houston beating The Steelers, Titans, Falcons and Bengals puts the Jets to shame.

    Here's to hoping the Jets continue playing hot, go 11-5, and at least get a chance to show what they are made of in the playoffs.

    Hey, I never said the Jets beat anyone of note. Because we definitely haven't.

    Houston's schedule isn't THAT bad, but they had 4-6 gimmes on that schedule and another one to come in Indy.

    We didn't beat many winning teams in the regular season last year either.

    If we won in Oakland this year they'd not be a winning team, so that wouldn't count either.
