Ignorance at its finest. Ellis is not only a rookie, but one from a small school, that did not get to benefit from OTA's, then got hurt jsut as he started to play for us. Its not about talent but training followed by an injuury that kept him out of the lineup. In his limited downs Ellis has looked very good.
Lets go KE provide some space for Mayhem to rush the passer Pace Ellis Wilkerson Maybin Sounds like a decent down in distant D line
DL is one of two areas where this team is set (the other being CB). Wilk, Ellis, Dixon, DeVito, and Pito are all long term contributors.
Duh it is MDV that I am not in love in not Ellis. What about the games he was not hurt why did not start ahead of MDV who is at the very best average to below average? :jets:
I think a lot of that decision will be made when we find out if Ellis is going to be deported due to a felony conviction....or have I missed something on Ellis's legal Front?
Was anyone paying attention to him? It seemed like he got pulled early and wasn't playing the DE position well
I think he was part of the problem on that first drive, he couldnt hold his edge, and it was what led to a few of the long runs by Helu. But thats purely off memory, maybe im backwards, but im not sure.
You're right, but let's be fair, a future nose tackle isn't exactly going to be expected to hold the edge against a running back (let alone one as fast as Helu). I'm hoping that we start using him off the bench more when Pouha needs a breather.
According to pettine he also got outplayed by MTV in practice last week so they thought it would be a good lesson to bench him last week. Pettine said he was responding well so far this week.
Again, another of our young players who will greatly benefit from a full offseason program, OTA and a full training camp....I expect Ellis to really pull a few of the vets next year...
