I'd prefer to see Denver win out, the Pats lose one more, with Houston the #1 seed. that way the Jets would get Denver as the 3rd seed, Houston next, and whoever survives between Pitt, Baltimore and NE. with NE's defense two losses is possible.
Denver is still the 4 seed under that scenario unless Baltimore and Pittsburgh drop two more games each, which is not likely.
Regardless of what happens we're in a tough spot, being the 6 seed almost guarantees your plating Pitt/NE/Balt in the 2nd round on the road. If there is a way we could get Denver and Houston sign me up for that as the 1 and 3 seed sign me up for that.
I'd fancy us in a rematch with Baltimore. As long as you can keep Sanchez upright I fancy us against their corners and our D against Flacco.
Want to avoid that like the plague. I know people here will disagree, and that's cool, but Baltimore seems to get in the Jets (more importantly Sanchez') head. I know we had a hurting O-line when we played them earlier this year, but Flacco had a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE game and we still got spanked. The opener last year, from an offensive standpoint, was awful. I think the Ravens get up for Rex due to their past history. I like the Jets against Houston and Denver. I think they have a fair shot against Pitt and NE, but I hate them on the road against Baltimore.
Another big reason that it should have been flexed is to not compete with the Jets/philly game. NYC and Philadelphia are two huge US television markets that wont get to see the game. Cant move the NYJ/philly game to 1 pm cause it will interfere with the giants, causing one NY team to get blacked out. I was very disapointed that the game didnt get flexed. Not only because it would have been a great primetime matchup in terms of ratings, but also to get Baltimore/SD off primetime. I give baltimore credit for being a great team over the years, but i have no idea why such a boring team to watch like the ravens gets so much national spotlight. They are like the NJ devils of the NFL I do agree with you guys in the sense that if thats really what kraft did, it was messed up. Every team has to deal with travel, its part of the nfl
The last team I want to play in the AFC is Baltimore, by far. I would love to have another shot at Denver because I am still extremely buttsore over our loss to them, and I just cant imagine Denver doing good in the playoffs.
Holy shit, what's gonna happen with Gronk and Tebow in the same building??? I believe Armageddon may be upon us...
Insightful post and right on the money. Lets go back to New England in the play offs- I would like our chances.
They didn't change their game time or date! They are playing when they were scheduled! They just didnt have the time changed on them.
