The Jets officially control their own destiny!!!!!!!! I was extremely worried about the Bengals actually, THANK-YOU TJ YATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kinda reminds me of 2009 where at the end of the season like 5 teams needed to lose and the Jets would have to win to make the playoffs and that actually happened more than one week. I love this back against the wall mentality, I'll take that over finesse any day in late-December and January
If the season ended today, Jets would play at patriots (Check ESPN.com, apparently I don't have enough posts to post the link) So lets start rooting for some Texans losses so they can fall to the 3 seed
So when you think about facing either Tom Brady or TJ Yates in the playoffs, your first thought is "Meh, don't care".........alrighty then
If you play it out on ESPN and the Ravens, Texans, and Pats all win out, the Ravens are the #1 seed and the Pats the #2 seed. As for worrying about opponents in the first round, it is kind of hard to do that when the Jets are going to have to fight just to earn the #6 seed. I just want a playoff berth at this point. I am not going to lose sleep if the Jets play the Pats in round 1 or 2.
Ok, I see where you're coming from Sorry if someone's already mentioned this, but does anyone know how the tiebreaker would wind up with Cincy and Tenn?
No but look at all the people that ripped me for posting this, this isnt basketball, this isnt baseball, this is FOOTBALL. You can be 5-5 and end up 11-5. In other sports if your around .500 halfway thru the season, you are going to end up their at the end. Thats why I dont understand why people are so quick to write this team off every year. You can clearly see we have a HIGH potential, im talking Super Bowl potential. If we can put everything together, we can do it. But people really though 8-8 was going to happen or 7-9?!? come on....
Bingo, I could care less who we play because we aren't there yet. Let's worry about beating Philly (something we have never done in the regular season) and the Giants. We are basically in the playoffs right now becuase lose 1 of the next 3 and our season is likely over.
Giants control their destiny now as well. What was already a brutal matchup just got 100 times worse.
It depends, if we lose to the Eagles or the Giants we own the tiebreaker, if we lose to the Dolphins they screw us.
And eagles playoffs chances remain alive also which means our already hard schedule just became harder
^^ Does all this mean we need to change the title of this thread to "we are still possibly making the playoffs but its not looking quite as likely as it did before the late game last night"?
