Tired of listening to the CBS talking heads so I decided to hook up my L/top next to the HD TV & listen to the game via the NYJs radio station that broadcasts the NYJ games
I've tried that before but the delay time is different between TV and Radio so it doesn't sync up right. One is ahead of the other. I know where you're coming from, it's hard to listen to these clowns on TV.
This. At least on local broadcasts (JAGS) the TV is a few seconds behind the radio. (and that's broadcast TV.... Cable a little more, and satellite is 8 secs behind broadcast TV) Maybe being that you're listening on the web, it could balance out
use tune in radio app on the android market. it may be on the apple market too. that is what i use when i cant watch the game. there is a couple second delay as mentioned above.
There's a good chance you will not get the game on your laptop, you'll have to tune into the station on an actual radio. NFL licensing often prohibits online broadcasts by radio stations becuase the NFL charges separately for the live game audio. If you do get the station to work on a normal radio, there's a good chance there'll be a 5 or 7 second delay....thanks to the FCC.
haha, no this was back in the day when you had this coffin sized piece of furniture in your living room with a television set (B/W, of course) sticking out the front and a hi-fi unit which had a record turntable you could access from the top. Just turn the volume down real low on the TV, tune in the hi-fi to the appropriate station and you were all set. Good times. Think I'm going to rock the Marty Glickman avatar for awhile.
That works? I thought they weren't allowed to broadcast games on those apps. I tried using tune in radio for the preseason games but it just replayed what was on earlier.
I remember back in the early 80s, when I was a kid in NJ, you could get the Giants, Jets, and Eagles games on basic cable TV. Today? The NFL works to make it difficult to tune in to radio via the web and listen without paying out the ass.
Bob Wischusen is the man. I like his touchdown calls, they're exciting without being overly dramatic.
Yeah, he's legit. I also like when he's interviewed by the two major metro-area stations because he's usually very assertive, swats stupid questions, and puts the radio hosts in their place (no matter who they are).
And he must have a degree in clock management, because he's always right on the money when it comes to timeouts, and what the Jets should do to preserve the clock.
