Every year I track the draft order starting around week 11. I will update weekly. Teams that rank 21-32 are currently playoff teams and I have not listed them, since they will move around based on how they advance in the playoffs. Remember, the draft order is determined on W-L record and tiebrakers are based on SOS (Strenght of Schedule), not head to head play. 1) Indianapolis (1-13) 2) Minnesota (2-12) 3) St. Louis (2-12) 4) Jacksonville (4-10) 5) Cleveland (4-10) 6) Tampa Bay (4-10) 7) Washington (5-9) 8) Carolina (5-9) 9) Miami (5-9) 10) Buffalo (5-9) 11) Philadelphia (6-8) 12) Kansas City (6-8) 13) Tennessee (7-7) 14) Arizona (7-7) 15) Seattle (7-7) 16) San Diego (7-7) 17) Cincinnati - from Oakland (7-7) 18) Chicago (7-7) 19) NY Giants (7-7) 20) Cincinnati (8-6)
From a draft perspective, it's nice to see the Jets with a midrange pick. So many good players should be available. Pass rushers, receivers and a guy like Burfict would be great additions. Unfortunately if we stay where we are in the draft order, it means our season is a gigantic failure...
UPDATED.....11/29/11 Teams out of the Playoffs as of 11/29 1) Indianapolis (0-11) 2) St. Louis (2-9) 3) Minnesota (2-9) 4) Jacksonville (3-8) 5) Carolina (3-8) 6) Miami (3-8) 7) Washington (4-7) 8) Arizona (4-7) 9) Philadelphia (4-7) 10) Kansas City (4-7) 11) Seattle (4-7) 12) Cleveland (4-7) 13) San Diego (4-7) 14) Tampa Bay (4-7) 15) Buffalo (5-6) 16) Tennessee (6-5) 17) New York Jets (6-5) 18) New York Giants (6-5) 19) Denver (6-5) 20) Detroit (7-4)
I want us to be the last pick of the 1st round. Lets all cross our fingers on that Thanks for updating
the good news there is the first six are against weaker teams. Meaning that we can get on a roll before we would have to play the tougher competition... all comes down to execution. We have the talent to play with anybody in this league, but we just have to play our best down the stretch and things will fall our way. We seem to be lucky like that lately...
Updated 12/6/11 1) Indianapolis (0-12) 2) Minnesota (2-10) 3) St. Louis (2-10) 4) Jacksonville (3-9) 5) Washington (4-8) 6) Philadelphia (4-8) 7) Carolina (4-8) 8) Miami (4-8) 9) Cleveland (4-8) 10) Tampa Bay (4-8) 11) Arizona (5-7) 12) Seattle (5-7) 13) Buffalo (5-7) 14) Kansas City (5-7) 15) San Diego (5-7) 16) New York Giants (6-6) 17) Tennessee (7-5) 18) Cleveland - from Atlanta (7-5) 19) Cincinnati (7-5) 20) New York Jets (7-5) Jets just missing the playoffs. Loss to Denver was HUGE!!!
Totally agree, no way he gets passed the top ten. I'd seriously consider him #1 overall if I were the Colts (they won't), and that's not a knock on Luck at all.
I see that order on a few sites, but it does not seem right. Right now isn't Cincy (19) in the playoffs while Oakland (not listed) is not. So wouldn't the Jets be 19 and Oakland be 20? It won't matter in the end as the Jets will be picking #32 anyway
Cincy is out of the Playoffs right now. Picks 21-32 are playoff teams. Pitt & Oak are Wildcards.....Denver is the AFCW leader.
ESPN shows Cincy in the playoffs over Oakland (why I was confused) http://espn.go.com/nfl/standings/_/type/playoffs/sort/conferenceRank/order/false
Based on your order, I don't see how RGIII gets to 8. You can make arguments against St Louis and Minny drafting QB's because they just took 1 in the last two years. But how can Washington not take RGIII? The only argument I can even think of is if you have Barkley going to Washington, but even then, I think we will see trades into the top 5 for qb's again. I wouldnt be shocked if Luck, Barkley and RGIII are off the board by 7 due to trades. Not saying Miami won't be trading up, but I just cant see them sitting at 8 and landing RGIII (or Barkley either)
I don't who's going to take 3 QBs ahead of Miami at #8. I don't do trades. Colts..Luck Vikes...no QB St Louis..no QB Jax...no QB Wash...Barkley Philly...No QB Carolina..no QB Miami.....RG3 I just don't understand your thinking....rule. RG# would be available at #8.
my thought is that RGIII should be going to washington in a no-trade scenario. I just think he is a better prospect than Barkley. Barkley is damn good, but I think RGIII is better. I just think it would/should be RGIII going at 4, and Barkley to Miami. Which is part of the reason I am hoping for a trade heavy top 5 this april, that and a couple more Miami wins. But I was just pointing out come real draft time, I don't think any of the 3 QB's make it past 7. With the price tag coming down, we are going to start seeing trades back into the top 5, especially in a QB heavy draft like this one.
IMO RG3 is going to be a slightly better version of Jason Campbell in the NFL. A very accurate QB with a decent arm and some running capability. I don't think he can blow out teams per say but with the help of a solid D he could win games in a conservative fashion. So teams will take that into consideration when drafting him. I'm surprised no one has brought up Landry Jones. Yes he had an off year but he still has first round talent for a QB hungry team. Also, Barkley should go right after Luck 100% unless RG3 blows away scouts at the combine. Matt can be a big time QB with good coaching. Seattle would be the perfect place for him but there is no way he gets past the Skins or Phins.
Jones would be better off returning for his senior year. He'd be the first QB drafted next year, now he's 4th on that list. Luck, Barkley and Griffin III are all superior.
Unless Matt Barkley returns for his senior season. As a kinda-sorta USC fan, that's mostly wishful thinking on my part. But with Matt Kalil returning, maybe they keep the whole band together and make a run at the National Championship!
Matt Kalil is returning!? Wow, didn't see that... mmm not too happy about it. The more elite players declare the better the player that will fall to us!
