Keep it classy, Johnny. Your inferiority complex is clear in any of your Patriots related posts. Some day, big guy, some day.

Regarding the 21 points, while I'd be surprised if the Patriots don't blow them out, I wouldn't be taking the over this week.

Yes, some day was January 16, 2011. Hopefully we see you again, same place, same result.

I was wondering what the line would be on this game, 21 sounds about right. Curtis Painter isn't doing much with his big chance, is he?

What's this, internet threats? Are you 12 years old?

If you don't like it, fuck off. It may have escaped your attention, but this is a New York Jets board. If you want to e-suck Brady cock, there are plenty of Pats boards to do that on.

What are you talking about? Is this where I'm supposed to show you how tough I am by proposing we meet in the parking lot of a local restaurant to resolve the matter pugilistically? What action are you proposing I take?

What "action" is he supposed to take on a message board?

    Threats? I think you're confused.

You're welcome to your opinion and you are welcome to post it on this message board. Your ability to do so, however, does not make your post any less childish. Wishing injury to a grown man, as (I'm presuming) a grown man, is silly.

Touche. I'm not sure why Johnny still acts like a little brother jealous of his big brother's success.

So? Taking professional sport as seriously as most of us non-professional sportspeople do is essentially silly. Tom Brady isn't a person, he's the quarterback of the New England Patriots. I hope he does his cruciate so that the quarterback of the New England Patriots becomes someone less talented than Tom Brady.

I don't know him as an individual and I don't care a jot about him, any more than I care a jot about the guys filling the green and white jerseys that I cheer for, or any other multi-millionaire that I don't personally know. I only care about the respective skill levels of the two sets of laundry, and so I wish injury upon every player in a Patriots jersey (except Patrick Chung, I'm happy for him to keep turning out every Sunday).

Watching sport is an abstracted concept in and of itself. Why does wishing injury upon the opposition represent any more silly a concept than wishing success for your own? It could easily be argued that the Patriots' success over the Jets will result in people losing their jobs, a far more wide-ranging and potentially devastating effect than that of a multi-millionaire coming towards the end of his career getting injured for a few months. You heartless, evil bastards.

To return to the point of the thread, Indy have fired their DC and announced that Dan Orlovsky will be their starting QB. So long, Curtis.

With a new defensive coordinator and a new QB, how much could this line go up? Hopefully, Brady will just go home at the half.

By the way, Hoyer did come in the game in the 4th Q on Sunday.

Personally I'd rather beat a guy than have him get hurt and beat his back-up. I felt the same way when Marino got hurt in 1993 as Brady in 2008. To me the playoff win up there was sweet because we beat Brady. Otherwise you get the old Knicks-Bulls thing, "well Jordan wasn't there". Whose fault was that? Did Ewing tell him to go play baseball?

I never have any time for that argument either. All teams have injuries, all teams put out the best side they have available on the given day, all victories count the same regardless of who was or wasn't playing.

I agree with that, I just think it's better to beat a guy who has beaten you so often, that's the fun of sports. I didn't throw back the win up there when Matt Cassel was playing but it is better to beat Brady.

In case you haven't seen or heard yet, here's the link to Belichick ripping the reporter during yesterday's press-conference.

I actually like this a lot, especially since it's so rare to see him show emotion. I lol'd when he referred to her question as a "soliloquy." Can't find any video for it, but he was notably perturbed haha.

Line stayed pretty steady after falling a half point to Patriots -20.5.

    That's where it closed.

Late TD by Garcon, and the Colts bettors are happy.

Curran: Belichick uses Colts to further experiment

    http://www.csnne.com/football-new-e...Colts-to-further-e?blockID=605710&feedID=3946

FOXBORO – Let’s get this out of the way right now: The Patriots didn’t take the Indianapolis Colts seriously.

In fact, they were so amused by the 0-11 Colts ineptitude that they stuck a wide receiver/kick coverage guy at safety for the day, started two other players they just signed, started a linebacker who had barely played linebacker and had him play corner on the game’s first third down play.

It was such a walkover that even Shaun Ellis and Jermaine Cunningham got in and Chad Ochocinco had a catch (and an offsetting drop).

In short, the Patriots were able to treat a regular season game like a preseason game and still win. Good for them? Great for them!

To be able to get players real-time reps at spots they’d never played in the month of December and still win? Any coach would leap at that opportunity.

The irony it all is that Bill Belichick spent the week acting like the media was high for disrespecting the Colts 0-11 record. He then went out and shamed them worse than the media ever could have with his personnel moves and sent Indy to 0-12.

On Wednesday, Belichick did everything but take off his shoe and pound the table to make everyone understand what a difficult challenge his team faced.

Meanwhile, he was tapping Matthew Slater on the shoulder and saying, “Wanna play defense this week?”

He was sticking newly signed Nate Jones out at corner and just-activated Nick McDonald in at center and putting Niko Koutovides in at linebacker and splitting him out to cover a wide receiver.

And still they won. They scored 31 points in six drives and rolled up a 31-3 lead by the end of the third.

But consider this, if the Patriots thought the game was in doubt and that they’d actually lose, would Tom Brady have been taken out of the game in favor of backup Brian Hoyer and run the ball three straight times with three minutes left?

How badly can you eviscerate the players for letting up in garbage time when the coaches were experimenting and putting in the backup quarterback in garbage time?

Putting all that aside, how did it all work out for the Patriots, this depth-building exercise?

Pretty well. Three of the top five tacklers against Indy were new (Nate Jones, 9 tackles), new to the team (Koutouvides, 6 tackles) or new to the position (Slater, 7 tackles).
