I'm on board with this. I don't think I'll be able to handle another Sanchez interception no matter how many TD passes he throws.
Much as I am determined to stay on the Sanchez bandwagon for the season, I wouldn't hate this move at all. Suspect Chicago will take him off waivers though.

I think signing him as a backup would be good insurance BUT would cause immediate controversy, especially in the NY media market, at first instance of poor play by Sanchez. I know Badger is just fucking with everyone via this thread, but for the people who are really considering acquiring McNabb -- just stop. Maybe it would motivate Sanchez, but what if it bugged him out and had him constantly looking over his shoulder instead of downfield. His confidence would be an enawmusly uddah disastah.
That's true. Not sure McNabb would be hugely overjoyed at being taken off the wire to be a back up though if he has a shot at starting somewhere else; if he isn't claimed I'd certainly talk to him, but I think that he has done enough over his career to have earned the respect of having the option of starting somewhere else over being our back up.

Chicago will be all over this and probably will be jumping for joy. I dont think Mcnabb wants a back up role
Given Chicago go to Minnesota last day of the season and could well need a win for the wildcard, it makes it a slightly odd decision for Minnesota to dump him. I know their season's over, but I'm surprised they'd let him go and help a divisional rival.

I think that unless someone signs him to start for a team this year, he sits out the rest of the year, tries to test the water for a starting job next year, then retires if no bites.
I'd say there is an 18% chance Rex puts in a waiver claim for him, gets him, and makes him a Captain vs. the Redskins Sunday.
And he's a proven winner. Well, sort of. I mean he's won some games. Maybe even more than he's lost. He puked in a Super Bowl, which is more than Sanchez has done!
