Didn't Favre not even tell the CS that his arm was fucked at first so he wouldn't break his consecutive starts record? I remember reading an article were Mangini was saying Favre told them he was fine or something.

Oh cool.. give him a hall of famer and he could do good?

First of all, I don't think that's even true. Of course they'd do well because Brees is that good, but Brees would be performing at a MUCH lesser level than he is now if he had Schitty running the show. Not even close.

Not to mention the goal line sequence against the Steelers in the AFC Championship game. You know, that ridiculous sequence of plays that put the final nail in the coffin?

He supposedly got hurt in the KC or Cincy game in October, he had his best stretch of games in November then when he started playing crappy again he blamed the injury.

Schottenheimer failed with Favre already OVER A FULL SEASON. What makes you think Brees will accomplish that feat of throwing over 300 yards?

I remember him taking a big shot in the Titans game and was holding has arm for a while, I figured that's when it happened. I remember him grabbing his arm a lot after taking big hits during the season though, maybe it got worse as he continued to play with the injury like the moron he is.

If better plays were called, we score. That sequence ruined our chances for a trip to the Super Bowl. He gets us to the 1 yard line for 2nd and goal. Two straight pass plays from the 1 yard line, and then a run straight up the middle for nothing by LT.

He should have been fired on the spot. It was a long ass drive that was capped out by pure stupidity and incompetence. The game was over right then and there.

running in from almost the 2 against Pitt is not easy, should we have tried another run? Probably but if we run and get stuffed then everyone complains we should have passed.

The game was over when our D couldn't get a stop and give the O the ball back. The D cost us that game, they set the tone on the 1st drive and couldn't give us a chance on the last drive.

If we run it with Greene another time or two, we score easily. Greene was shredding them, their D looked gassed. Schitty bailed them out with those bullshit plays.

yeah, their D sure looked gassed when they stopped us on 4 plays. It's easy to say we should have run Greene but if we do and miss then you and everyone else would complain we should have passed. It's about execution, we didn't execute.

Well look what happened.. a run on first down to get us to the 1.. then Schitty was late getting the play in, resulting in an incomplete to Keller. 3rd down was a ridiculous slant to Holmes that had no chance. And then we all know what happened on 4th.

Greene was shredding them on that drive. The play-calling was ridiculous. Everyone would have complained if we ran 4 times an didn't score, but it was the right move.

Yeah he did. I still don't understand how he's the coordinator. We had no business passing from the 1 yard line TWICE in a row. It wasn't even a damn play-action pass. We spread them out, hiked it from under center, and tried to throw a quick slant. Our running formation was blatantly obvious with NO receivers(if you know the Jets, that means a run up the middle), and our passing formation was obvious with 4 receivers spread out. This guy is so terrible.

In 2+ years, Shotty has been unable to find a single Sanchez strength that he can exploit. Just when play action seemed to be a Sanchez strength, we forgot how to run.

The execution excuse is getting old. A good coach produces plays his players can execute consistently. Schotty produces plays his players consistently fail to execute. This has been going on for several seasons of mediocrity now. He consistently call plays that his team consistently fails to execute on.

Part of it is that this offense isn't that good. Mangold is the best player on the offense and he has been hurt. The rest of the line has been below average. The running backs have been subpar. The passing game has been unspectacular. Just no really outstanding weapons. Holmes hasn't done shit. Plax has been decent. Keller is average. Sanchez has been inconsistent and occasionally terrible and doesn't appear to have improved under schotty and cavanaugh.

Dumping Schotty if we don't make the playoffs is probably a no brainer, but just because u get a new OC doesn't mean mediocrity is suddenly going to become all pro level. But I'm still all for getting rid of schotty b/c it looks like we need to shake things up.

so by your logic shouldn't our qb coach be taking the blame for sanchez shortcomings? since you're putting brees early struggles on schotty rather than their oc at the time.

On Open mic, Sanchez was talking about the need to execute better on 1st and 2nd down, and said something to the effect of, instead of throwing a 16 yard in route, getting 3.5 to stay manageable is the right thing.

He put it on himself, but if you watch the formations they pass out of early....those checkdowns aren't usually there.

I think he's pointing out that Schotty can manage to screw up a HOF QB from any coaching position.

No, by my logic any QB that shotty is at all close to as a coach underperforms. Its like he has an aura of qbsuck around him that gets on QBs and lowers all their stats.
