The dirty work that no one else does and stat lines don't account for... http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/06/13/bart-scott-the-art-of-linebacking-beyond-the-tackle/
He didn't play a lot last game b/c of the Bills spread attack. I don't know how many plays he played but it wasn't a normal amount.
Mr. Can't Wait, Can't Tackle. Simple. I still don't think he's had a great season. And played like shit in the AFCCG after he blew up at Sal Pal after the Pats game. After he like the whole D laid an egg in Pitt I completely lost respect for him.
eat OL so David Harris can look good hes past his prime but why he never gets credit is beyond me. on that note his replacement should be drafted this offseason and groomed to take over in 13
All bark, no bite. He's a one down player. The second they aren't in I-formation he's off the field, because he can't even cover a fullback at this point. and I love Bart.
MadBacker has defeniantly lost some madness its sad. I see the work he does. It is serviceable but it is sad he is a one down Backer
He's definitely lost a step. Even from last year to this year. Keep in mind that losing one of your starting LB's, albeit an OLB (Bryan Thomas) isn't going to help. That's going to change everyone's role when you have to plug a back up in the lineup.
Call me naive but if all Bart Scott is good for now a days is to take on blockers wouldn't it be better to just play with 4 down lineman? I understand its not as easy as I'm making it seem but just a thought.
C'mon guys. This thread is bad, even for recent TGG standards. The Jets were consistently in their Nickle defense in which Bart doesn't play. He wasn't on the field for most of the game. If you want to talk about Scott regressing, that's fine. But don't use Sunday's game as your barometer. The truth is that he wasn't as good as advertised coming over from Baltimore. He and Leonard were essential in '09 because they knew Ryan's scheme and helped implement it that year. You remember, right? The defense that ranked #1 in the NFL?
Scott is still good at what he does. Top run defender. Never was much of a pass coverage LB. Harris is really our best (boy he's stepped up his game though!)
He's just like his HC. Talks a better game then he actually plays. He was never a dominant player for us.
