i am w/ jimmy on this one...as much as sanchez had his ups/downs, no need to be booing your starting QB at the beginning of the game...not cool
Booing your own team's players for anything other than malcontent behavior or lack of hustle is stupid. Period.
I have a feeling this is going to be a divisive topic on this board, but I just can't understand booing the QB before kickoff. Sanchez has been inconsistent but he isn't the only reason the Jets were 5-5 going into this week's game. Booing your own players must give the visiting team a significant boost going into the game.
Jets fans will never be happy until they get a Super Bowl win or as Rex has stated back in August...Sanchez is elite. But I think its bad they booed before hand
I was at the game and I don't recall a single person booing Sanchez during his introduction. But ya know what? Time to man-up Jimmy. This fan base is angry after watching this team fall into the same disapointing underachieving ways they've seen for decades now. The home field advantage can be one of the best in the league when the team plays well..but when they play lifeless, underachieveing ball like they have all of this year...you're gonna get a restless and often time lifeless home crowd.
Nailed on Curtis! Jim was on the Money- " We looked at each other and said it looks like we're on our own on this one, we can't rely on the crowd". I am fucking embarrassed. Team intros. If the guy threw 6 interceptions okay boo but jees. We are Jets- live and die by our team and show some passion. Lets get behind the guy who has pulled out wins for us all his career.
I'm 50/50 on this. I agree that the booing was definitely uncalled for before the game and we need to show them support, but at the same time, they need to stop putting a shit product on the field and get it together. On defense, where is the energy? After a big play show some god damn emotion. Fire up the crowd, do something. Don't have a 3rd and 10 then get some dumb penalty (Cromartie, illegal contact, automatic FIRST DOWN!).
Grow a pair of balls. Instead of mouthing off, he should try to improve his tackling. If fans booed Sanchez, I'm sure they were all cheering @ the end of the game when Jets won. Fans are fickle deal with it. At least they show up every game & the Jets aren't struggling w/ attendance like other teams. When the Jets go on winning streaks (especially in the playoffs) the Jets receive plenty of support. Just looking @ these boards whenever Sanchez is dissed in anyway, there's plenty of people typing up angry posts to defend him. Sanchez isn't hated by the Jets fanbase at all. If he just received some boos pre-game, I'm sure he won some of them over with his last drive @ the end of the game. wtf is this crap that a player should never ever ever ever be booed.
How long have you people been NY sports fans? Derek Jeter has been booed. Why do you think Sanchez should be an exception?
Should have had Schotty run out of the tunnel ...Sanchez takes a brunt of those boos as they are all not just for him.
thats what happens when you get a new stadium fazes out the real fans and get more people like the "sanchez is a dick" d bag and the vaynerchucks.
First of all I was watching the tv, and I don't recall hearing the fans boo Sanchez. Maybe it's because I was booing him myself.
If the home crowd boo's their own team during introductions they have basically killed part of the home field advantage right there. It's called being a buzzkill. Some Jets fans are so dumb they cant even write their own name, so I'm not surprised at this. It's not bad enough that this team has to deal with a very lopsided NY media, our fans can be backstabbing idiots as well. I have no doubt Mark's bad starts are somewhat affected by the idiots getting on his case the second he enters MetLife stadium.
