All players are due for a bad game, and overall Revis didn't have that bad of a game. Most of those passes to Johnson could not really have been defended much better, but Johnson definitely had a lot of success against Revis today. Is that his worst game since his rookie year? Maybe in his career? Giving up 75 yards and one 3 yard TD pass isn't exactly a horrible game for a CB, but I believe that may have been Darelle's worst, correct me if I'm wrong here.
He has a game like that every year except for 2009. He never gets burned big in them, it's just shocking that he looks like a normal good CB for a change.
Even god has a dayoff. 1 bad game in 3 years gimme a fuckn break. Even immortal athletes have bad days. HEs so good that a offday reminds us hes human.
Fitzpatrick did a good job of putting the ball where only the receiver could win it. It's a risky game, but without too many other offensive options the Bills didn't have much choice.
I blame the unstickying of the Midnight Service at the Darrelle Revis House of Worship thread and the fact that no one has visited that thread to pay their respects to Revis Christ since Nov 13.
Johnson beat him for a long pass in Buffalo with the same moves he was using on the line Today. I was just waiting for him to Jump a short pass but he ust kept giving him those short passes Fitz tho made some pin point passes, some of those were just good plays by them The last 2 passes were miscommunication, Pool was clueless and I don't know what happened in 1st drop
They were all 7-8 yarders. Not exactly setting the world on fire but it was one game, not a big deal.
The way I looked at it, it was better seeing Revis giving up 9 yards at a time, compared to Someone else giving up a big play. It was the amount of catches that made it look like Revis was having a bad day. But in the end, Stevie Johnson only had 75 yards.
revis got fucked up by stevie. dunno why revis was playing so far off the line of scrimmage though. i didnt see him getting physical with stevie that much.
he allowed 8 catches and should've been at least 9 and 100 with that s johnson drop. i don't even recall him having this bad of a game in his rookie season.
A defensive back gives cushion when he is afraid of getting beat deep. My guess is that Revis believes that Stevie is faster than he is.
I wont take credit from Stevie Johnson but 1. Revis doesnt trust his safeties, in the 1st Buffalo game Pool failed to help Revis over the top and Johnson got the pass, 1st game vs New England Smith let Welker get ahead of him for huge gain setting up an easy score, plan and simple Rex wanted Revis to keep the play in front of him its not as if he kept allowing Stevie to get catches on 3rd downs but the plays he did get werent game changers besides the touch down
He needs to get back to bumping people at the line. He played like Cro does after he gets called with a couple holding penalties.
i don't blame him-- do you? His safeties suck to a man. either too small/ slow to help, or too stupid (Smith/ Poole) I thought he did a decent job, though frustrating, being literally on an island-- I was more frustrated with Cromartie's coverage, lack of ability to play the ball effectively, and the lack of pass rush.
