Karmas a bitch you cocksucker. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2011/11/24/2584868/nnamdi-asomugha-injury-philadelphia-eagles
Because all he did was say he didnt want to play for us amright !? He strung us along and played us, completely crippling our free agency just to get his ass rich. Its not like the guys crippled, just his season and probably his tenior as the second best corner in the nfl
Asomugha strung the Jets along, making us perform like a dancing bear, then signed for a team that came in at the last minute, claiming that he couldn't ignore a team that obviously wanted him so badly, leaving us still dancing pathetically. I don't wish injury on him, but other than that, fuck him.
yes he strung us along. but crippling our FA? seriously? After Nnamdi went to Philly, we signed Cro, Plax, Mason, Eric Smith and a couple other guys. The only two guys we might have wanted that we couldnt sign while waiting for Nnamdi is Jonathon Joeseph, and Dawan Landry. I am convinced we werent ever going to be Landry players, and it appeared to be either a Nnamdi or Cro at corner kind of plan. Braylon waited until well after Nnamdi and well after Plax signed to get his deal. So I sure as hell wouldnt call us crippled for having not gotten Nnamdi. and as far as the "just to get his ass rich" part. Um what the hell did you think he was going to do? Would you have expected him to come play next to Revis for pennies on the dollar? You know damn well that 98% of professional athletes are going to follow the money. Its a rare occasion that they turn down extra (and by extra I mean fully guaranteed dollars) just to go to a place where they can win. In fact you would too. I am willing to bet that if you got a phone call right now from a guy at a rival company to wherever you work, and he said, I'm going to pay you an extra $25,000 a year if in March you stop working for your current company, and start working for mine. you are going to flip your current company the bird and celebrate all the way to the bank.
I laughed because it was funny. I also find it funny when people are outraged that someone mocked a player injury. I'll gladly twist my knee until it hurts for $100 million dollars
So we maintained two players (one of whom has no business starting) and downgraded for two others. You can say it's not crippling but it's sure as heck not good.
So he gave us a bad knee injury (less than cripple), and then he got one for himself. Seems like Karma to me. Or at least it's brought this thread full circle.
He was one of the biggest name free agents to come out in the last several years... Of course he was going to shop himself around.. and also, your very own coach said that they made 1 offer to him and that was it.. so he looked over the offer and shopped himself around some more and decided he wanted to go for more money in Philly. Any big name free agent would do this and if they didn't they would be selling themselves short.. You think the Jets are special and big name free agents should just sign with them for less than their market value because its the Jets? They haven't won anything yet, they just talk like they have, so that will never happen until they stop talking and start winning some rings.
