No Cam Cameron please. Anyone that thinks its a good idea for Ray Rice to get 5 carries through the course of a game isn't for me.

Trestman is an interesting candidate, but unfortunately I could see Rex promoting from within and giving the job to either Cavanaugh or Callahan if it opens up.

Agreed. Weiss is chasing a head coaching job in the NCAA. He already walked away from one OC job in the NFL to pursue that goal so I doubt he winds up leaving for any reason short of being fired or offered a head coaching job.

Moore is done with coaching. If he wanted to take another OC job he'd probably be much more involved with the Jets than he has been. I don't see any reason for him to try to come back to a full-time position at this point.

While I don't think promoting either Callahan or Cavanaugh is the most likely option, I don't think it would be that far removed from a possibility. Cavanaugh would seem to be the most likely candidate due to his current experience with Sanchez as well as Rex's experience with him with the Ravens. That being said I was never a big fan of his job as an OC at Pitt so I'm not exactly praying for this one to occur.

Given the OLine's performance this season(especially the struggles Brick has been having) I'm wondering how much Rex still wants Callahan around for now. However if Rex does decide to keep him then the best way to do that would probably be promoting him to OC. He's already gotten at least one OC offer from another team and I doubt the Jets would be able to retain him as a position coach when his contract is up - assuming it's at the end of this season.

As for Sarkisian, I think it would be interesting. His offense is almost the exact opposite of Schottenheimer's. He focuses heavily on the deep game and I would love to see what Sanchez could do with that type of scheme. However, I doubt the Jets would ever lure him away from Washington.

I kind of like Joe Lombardi QB coach of the Saints.

It's never the OC's fault to the sub-average fan.

The next OC will be more of a QB coach/guru, as I believe Tom Moore will be involved in game day play- calling

Why do you say that? I haven't heard or seen anything to suggest he is going to be involved at an even higher level after this season.

I would give the GM credit for those picks before I give the WR coach all the credit, the Jets had a chance to get Hakeem Nicks.

They also have Kevin Gilbride as their OC, he is not the greatest, but he pushes the ball down field a lot without abandoning the run.

Norv Turner might work. He stinks as a head coach but he really is a good offensive coordinator, he runs a similar system, and he'll be looking for work.

I'd love for Chad to come back and try as an OC. But I'd like either Callahan to get promoted or what do you think of Josh McDaniels?

Josh McDaniels or Norv Turner would be my choices for OC. That is assuming the Chargers finally fire Norv which I expect they will.

After the comments between Norv and Rex I'm not sure Norv would want to come here.

What is Mcdaniels doing as of now???

If I have to look at "dinosaur neck" on the sidelines I will be seriously disappointed. Besides, it seems like choking is in Norv Turner's DNA. I don't want that near our team.

Josh McDaniels strikes me as a punk ass bitch. As soon as he arrived on the scene in Denver, Jay Cutler recognized that they weren't going to be able to work together professionally and demanded a trade, and he got one. Brandon Marshall also couldn't work with the guy, and wanted out really badly too.. unfortunately for Marshall he had to wait a year, but eventually he got the trade he was desperately seeking too. McDaniels has a way of alienating his best players and he strikes me as a guy who just rubs people the wrong way. He also has terrible judgement when it comes to roster moves, which I guess an as OC he wouldn't have too much control over, but even still it seems like he makes really poor decisions and rubs people the wrong way, and seems like a prick.

So I hate to be totally negative so I'll say: good ideas so far guys, keep up the good work!

He's currently the OC of St. Louis. That can easily change if the Rams fire Spagnuolo.

I don't like him for the Jets. I don't like his offense for Sanchez and his usual insistence on bringing in "his guys" would seem to lend itself to more stop-gap players rather than long-term players which would either leave us with short-term gains at WR that would need to be replaced on an average of two years.

Sanchez needs stability in the personnel right now if he is going to improve and the team in general needs stability in the personnel if they want to create an environment for a QB to flourish.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Most average fans blame who they can SEE, usually the QB. People that pay attention will critique the playcalling as well as the player discipline and skill.

To those who want Cavanaugh, what would make you feel comfortable promoting him? Clearly Nacho hasn't progressed a whole lot under him as QB coach, and considering he works with Schotty to formulate a game plan for Sunday what would make you think anything would change? I understand that he isnt the one calling the plays, but for someone who has been working with Mark as closely as he has it seems like he probably wouldn't be the answer either.

Not so sure I agree with the idea of bringing in Joe Lombardi either, he's been a defensive line coach for most of his life and he was handed an already established quarterback in Drew Brees. To me Tom Clements would be great if you were able to pry him away from the Packers.

I don't think callahan or cavanaugh should get the OC position. I'd like the qb coach of the packers or saints.
