I know of a couple of boards that successfully run this way, but they're usually smaller. This is true, and part of what makes this forum interesting to read. That being said, I don't like perma-bans in general, but I guess they can sometimes be necessary.
All these bans and suspensions continue........ "Most Knowledgeable Poster 2011" here I come!!!!! Wooooo!!!
LOL! Good luck with that. I, however, could be the last one standing and still miss out on that award.
Aww you're trying to make some sort of principled statement. That's cute. Put as much effort into making thoughtful Jets posts and your knuckleheaded point dies like so many kittens.
I've been on this board a long time and seen posters come and go. TGG will survive the loss of a couple of posters.
The forum is going to slow down big time, and it's sad that you guys do not realize that. Maybe you guys are content with losing about 50% of the content that TGG generates in the coming weeks.. I don't know. Activity will generally level off after this whole fiasco is final and the bans remain. Eventually though, this place will become pretty slow and will be composed of the die-hards that refuse to leave. A healthy amount of regular posters will check in a lot less if at all, probably heading to a different discussion board. The offseason will become a barren wasteland. What I don't think you guys realize is that TGG's niche has just been killed. People don't just join TGG because they want to talk Jets football. They join because it has a different atmosphere, lenient rules, self-policing, debauchery.. you know the deal. For whatever reason all that is now in the garbage and it's a frenzy to protect the fellow mods' egos and Petrozza's pride.
DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD! Where do we send the "Sorry for your loss...I still don't really give a fuck about you" card?
I couldn't disagree more. We have lost many people here over the years and yet this place continues to thrive. For example abyzmul hasn't posted much lately yet this board has continued just fine. And abyzmul was one of the most active members of this board. Just food for thought before more apocolyptic posts start popping up.
Been awhile since I've posted. Been coming here for years, and enjoy an almost daily read. Usually busy writing around draft time. Always enjoyed the humor and fun atmosphere, while tolerating those who sometimes go overboard and start treating others like shit. I'll be honest, the thought of this board with less arguing and bullshit is NOT a bad thought to me. I kinda look forward to it.
Aren't you the genius that paid Champ to overnight you his season tickets 2 months before the season started? Abyzmul is one person. You guys just axed half a dozen of the board's most prominent posters and I'm sure more are on the way
Football knowledge aside E was a fucking asshole. Men who constantly call other men faggots...have the word faggot in their screen pic...and repeatedly tell faggots to die in a fire are most likely hiding something. I've said plenty of dumb shit on here and got roasted as I should have. But when you can tell that a post has been made by a 13 year old kid that's still learning the game and just want to talk Jets then some Internet tough guy douche bag calls him a faggot I don't think it's "good for the board" I'm sure there are more than a few members that don't post shit bc they don't want to get attacked by the self proclaimed football gods on this board. Plus when you post an opinion here is no reason for some miserable cunt to piss all over you.
You're assuming that things are going to continue to remain harsh and unrelenting. I don't know that that's the case. It remains to be seen, but I think the mods know the value of the board climate. Either way, if it goes downhill, it's just a message board. One with damn good posters, but still just a message board.
