The only WC team that has a better record than the Patriots is the Steelers, and that could change tonight. We're not going to be competing with Pitt for the #5. Our best shot is at the #6. Cincinnati still has to play Pitt again, Baltimore again, and Houston (albeit without Schaub). Their 1 game advantage isn't a huge issue. After that, every other team is 5-5 at best. Our biggest problem with the WC is tiebreakers with some of those 5-5 teams. If we're going to drop another game and finish 10-6, we'd better not lose the 6th game in conference. Of course, 10-6 may be a stretch right now.
I'll br rooting for the Pats. But I don't see any upside that would make a Jets fan root for the Pats?
Also im 99% sure if we end up tied with the Bengals, we will get in. We have beaten the Bills and Jaguars. We have lost to the Broncos and Ravens. The same exact thing can be said for the Bengals. The only difference will be that We will be 3-2 against common opponents while the Bengals will be 2-3. Assuming that they lose to the Ravens. If we beat the Bills and the Bengals lose to the Ravens, we will have the tiebreaker im pretty sure.
Matt Cassel is out for the season. Game over for the Chiefs unless they have the 2nd coming of Tom Brady. It sucks though that we lost to the Broncos, because if we had won we would be in the 6th seed right now with the tie breaker over the Bengals ontop of that.
Ummm... if the Pats lose tonight they're 6-4 and we're one game back. How is the division out of the question? Is it likely that we overtake them and win it? No, that's doubtful, but why would you not root for that to happen? FUCK THE PATS!!
My mistake, I did think that Cincy was 7-3 as well. The wildcard is as far out of reach as I was claiming the Division to be, by my standards. Still I used to watch the games and think about the rest of the season as if it had already happened, but I found I enjoy the games more by not doing that. Anything can happen at any point in time, in anygame, thats how I watch and enjoy. I guess I never really addressed the OP then, Im rooting for the KC tonight because a Patriots loss helps us towards the Division win.
Against an RC defense? I think there's a good chance we'll see some defenses that'll confuse Brady. Turnovers could be a major factor tonight.
I will laugh at the misfortunes of others, like Miami in 2002. I will cheer the good fortune of the Jets when a Pats win helps the Jets, like 2002. I will never actively root for the Pats to win. Fuck them.
I'll say it root for a season ending very minor but nagging finger injury on Tom Brady's throwing hand, sort of like his finger just goes crooked for several months and only time and rest can heal it but he will be perfectly fine in March.....shit I'm going to hell ain't I
i could never root for NE unless it was a game where we needed them to win too clinch and there was no choice like 2002
