He deserves part of the blame as do the players, it's hard to run a successful offense w/ a poor OL and no running game. Remember the 3 game win streak when we started protecting the QB and running it better? Noticed how much better the O looked? I think he calls good games more often than not, sure there will be a perceived bad call now and then like all teams have but I have no problem w/ the way he calls games overall.
After Schitforbrains is fired and the Jets suddenly start scoring 21 more pts per game, I wonder if AFCBEAST, CJLang, deathstar, & nyjunc will get rid of his tattoo on their asses
Yes. Last season there were 4 or 5 games where it was a great gamellan and some people still wanted to bitch about him. Even this year he's a had a couple of games that were good.
You realize we are averaging 20 PPG and that is w/ the awful game the other night. It's really 20 when you take away the D/STs TDs
I respect junc for sticking to his guns and backing Schotty. Does it make him any less nuts? No. But I respect his "going down with the ship" mentality.
Posters who have given up on Schotty - 204 Posters who still believe in him - 4 I think we have a mandate. Fire his ass!
Yeah but the poster in the group of 4 is right a heck of a lot more than he is wrong If you put this poll on each team's MB you'd get similar results. The OC is always the scapegoat.
He may survive a bit longer. He has that "Witch! Witch! Witch!" thing going for him now and when the angry villagers with pitchforks start to close in on Tannenbaum it'll be easy to point them at Schotty as the scapegoat. It's going to take timing though. Fire Schotty too early and wind up getting burned at the stake anyway. Wait too long and Tanny'll be up there beside him as the matches are lit.
I still am yet to see anybody give a legit argument on why Schitty is GOOD and deserves to stay as the OC? Is mediocrity all we should be hoping for? How can anybody look at that GIF posted here and not be disgusted? And it's not like that was out of the ordinary.. those kinds of plays are the norm. It's disgusting.
i've heard people on here say sanchez played well inspite of schotty. that was what i remember and that's why i asked the question in the first place. when plays aren't executed the oc looks worse than he really is. does this mean i'm not giving him some credit for the offense struggles these last two years? no.
the jets beat the 3rd best defense in 2006 the raiders 23-3 http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/total/position/defense/year/2006
I think his offenses has consistently underperformed in big games. I watch the routes on his passing plays and wonder what the fuck is going on - he either never sends anyone deeper than 15 yards, places two WRs right next to each other or both - and the play-calling has been frustrating as has been documented numerous times on this board. He may become a great coordinator. It won't be with the Jets. It's time for the team to go in a new direction at the position.
Argument one: for the sake of continuity Argument two: it's the personnel, not Schotty Maybe that's good enough to not fire him outright but it's not enough to warrant giving him another extension.
for the record i've printed these pages out, jerked on it, came on nyjunc's name, and mailed it to Schotty.
Not the last 2 years... It's been SIX years now. And he's never been good. Not with Chad, not with Favre, not with Sanchez. All OC's will take some blame when the team plays badly, I get that. But this isn't just a bad stretch or something, it's a long consistent period of him sucking. They never look well-prepared. They never exploit weaknesses. The play designs and scheme are just shit. Exactly.. those are the things people say to defend him, but neither one is really an endorsement of him being a "good" coach. I dont understand how so many can be satisfied with the job he's done as the OC here. What has he done "good"?? All anyone says is "he's not as bad as you make him out to be" which is bullshit. Even if he's not "the worst piece of crap coach" like I and others think he is, he's still below average and certainly not "good".
