As I am sure most of you know, several people got banned over the last 2 days. First, a certain poster, who should have been banned a long time ago, got banned for trying to destabilize the board. The rules of this message board do not mention anything regarding such behavior, but this is ultimately the worst possible offense that can be done here. Then, a couple of people voiced their displeasure with this ban. I am pretty sure that everyone here can read, so there was no reason to keep posting pretty much the same thing for several hours. After several warnings they got banned as well. At least one of them already tried to come back under a different name, but was stopped in his tracks. This website has been around for 11+ years and this is not the first time when a few people decided that this board is not run the way it should be. Many years ago I had pretty much the same opinion about ESPN.com message boards, so I simply left that place and created TheGangGreen.com. There are many other Jets' websites out there, or you can always try to create your own if you don't like it here. But please don't undermine the efforts put into this board/website by the moderators and myself. There will really be no winners... Thank you and let's get back to talking about NY Jets and football.
I know it sounds sycophantic, but I love the board and the ability to talk/vent about the Jets. Thanks Petro.
I hope the ban hammer was gentle. how much of an a-hole did you have to be to get banned and get a thread about your ban?
Well, basicly don't tell perto you think he's a bitch, not a real fan, and his board sucks. Thats the quick way to perma ban status. The ban hammer has not been gentle over the past few days, a couple people with good football knowledge got the boot, but the Shtick of calling everyone you disagree with a faggot, retard, and worse every thread was way over due for this. TGG.com will be a better place to talk football without it.
It sucks, but it happened. We're all fortunate this board exists, as the rest of the Jets internet landscape is barren and frightening. Petro created a site that has become simply the best Jets forum by attracting quality posters. Unfortunately, we lost 2 of the best this weekend. Quite fortunately, however, the board moves on. Petro has never taken the same approach to this forum as he takes to the team, or it would have been given up on and abandoned ages ago. It's for that fact that I'm the most grateful to him. However anyone feels about him, he commands respect for his drive and perseverance with this board.
Mr E and 624. Oh, and that Jam kid. Mr E and Jam are permabanned and 624 got a year. Mr E created a thread crudely criticizing Petro in the TT forum, Jam went off the deep end and did the same in the Banned thread (breaking a ton of rules), and 624 persisted in criticizing Mr E's ban. The Banned thread has been deleted.
Ouch... this one hurts - but then, rules must be enforced no matter who he is. Time to move on, I guess?
I like this site better than other Jets related websites for number of reasons. 1: The overall design is clean, not a lot of ads, and easy to navigate. 2: The posts are very insightful and funny! 3: I like the Real Time Game Thread a lot! 4: Even Fans from other teams come here to troll.
This is an interesting forum. Lots of crazies with divergent ideas, and lots of funny reading. Thanks for your efforts.
Vorrecht is the latest to go. People really need to realize that criticism of the site will not be tolerated. Good job, Vorrecht
