Vinny Testaverde: Chad Pennington: Kellen Clemens: Brett Favre: Mark Sanchez: Other Options: Ray Lucas Glenn Foley Quincy Carter Brooks Bollinger Other I am going to go with Chad Pennington still. The Jets had the most success with Sanchez so far actually. Back to back title games. Vinny took the Jets to the title game too. Pennington with playoff appearances in 2002, 2004 and 2006. Not bad. Ranking the Top 5 it would have to be: 1. Chad Pennington 2. Vinny Testaverde 3. Mark Sanchez Hopefully Sanchez moves up the list.
How dare you forget the machine from Texas Tech Kliff Kingsbury!!! Actually for me it was probably Vinny , just an all around class act and a winner. He was a hometown guy and he nearly got us to a Super Bowl.
i dont think kingsbury actually played... tom tupa however did throw passes for the jets. and that is who i vote for!
I liked Chad, but he always seemed to get hurt. Sanchez is very streaky. Plays like crap in stretches then turns it on and plays very well for a few games. It is a toss up for me between Sanchez and Pennington.
He attempted 2 passes in a 27-0 loss to Denver in 2005. He only completed one for the only completion of his NFL career. A guy who threw for over 12K yards in college only threw for 17 in the NFL yet he smashed Brittney Spears before she showed her roast beef and got a SB ring with the Pats.
ill get flamed for this but its favre for me since it was the only time the offense could be top notch
Big time fan of Chad P. I wanted him to succeed so much when he was here, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. I think Sanchez has talent that he needs to tap into. I believe he can get this done. He's come too close twice already. Let's get it together #6.
Chad's accent always pissed me the fuck off, so I could never really get behind him and his noodle arm.
Although Mark has been to 2 Championship Games, Vinny and Chad each have division titles. And ToneTime makes a good point about Favre. He had flashes of great QB play for the Jets. That laser he threw to Coles in Tennessee comes to mind. The Seattle game also comes to mind too though. I wonder how good the Jets would have done in 2009 if Favre stayed and the Jets still drafted Sanchez but let him watch for a year?
