Because Flacco, Tebow, Freeman, Clausen, McCoy have all become elite quarterbacks. Oh wait, Sanchez has a higher QB rating and yards-per-attempt than ANY OF THEM. Matt Ryan has a year on Sanchez (and was a #1 overall pedigree) and is having an almost identical year statistically, yet isn't taking anywhere near the same amount of heat. He's average at best right now, momentum-crushing at worst, but you don't abandon ship after 41 fucking starts. It's not time. Not yet. Give him a year with some new offensive coaching. If it doesn't work, then I'll agree with you. If he was less prone to those 1-2 numbnut mistakes per game, the perception of him would be completely different. Then again, so would our record.
Are you kidding me these were quarterbacks drafted late in the 1st round, Sanchez was drafted #5 and given a Brafdord type contract therefore a bust.
How many superbowls has Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco won? Alex Smith? Ryan Leaf? I wanna see what Sanchez looks like with someone besides Schotty as the OC. Then and only then will I refuse to believe that Sanchez is an NFL QB! Lets see you joined the message board today and called yourself releasesanchez....go back to your NE Pats board and stop trolling......don't you have anything better to do?
What's worse is his stats are UP, this year despite what key factor? Ummm,Playing behind the worst Oline he's ever had.
You would be saying the same thing if he was making less money. And that's good, compare him to Sam Bradford, I forgot him. Sam Bradford has 4 touchdown passes in 7 games
Mark Sanchez is an ELITE NFL QB TALENT. His body of work in Big spots provides evidence of that. He is NOT an Elite NFL QB. Why is that? Well, maybe he doesn't have it. Or, maybe, Phil Simms, Brian Billick, Chris Collinsworth and Michael Irvin all of whom have called out Schitty this season know what they are talking about.
Yes! People fail to consider that. Each of the past 2 seasons, Mark's o-line has gotten worse, while his numbers have slowly improved. 54.8% passing to 57.1 is solid improvement, and there are some total dud games keeping that 57% down, too. Continued progression and cutting down mistakes with experience will make him look like a different player by the end of next season. Looking for an "Elite QB" is like playing the lottery. We haven't had one since that guy who we won a Super Bowl with. We don't need "elite" to win a SB, we just need "good"
Matt Ryan, Sam Bradford, Philip Rivers, Matthew Stafford, Alex Smith, and Michael Vick. Four of these guys were #1 overall picks. Ryan and Rivers were top four picks. They've all struggled at some point in their careers and they were all picked higher than Sanchez. GTFO.
His stats are not essentially up. It is skewed instead. His stats look like it because Jets have improved vastly in the red zone. To compensate, Jets have taken a critical fall in just about everywhere else. Jets are #2 in red zone efficiency, if I need to remind you of that. This means that, Jets will more than likely score TD if they get to the red zone. How will they get there? That's where the problem lies. They can't get themselves moving in that direction - which wasn't the conundrum that it is a year ago. And in the grand scheme of things, Schottenheimer is basically useless any way you look at it. That's where the problems start sadly.
slowly improved how many pick 6's has he thrown this offseason? 60 rating vs the worst defense in the league. Wow how can anyone still be defending this retard is mind boggling. Seeing Tebow running a 2 minute offense in his 1st game started vs Sanchez in year 3 makes me puke. This guy has average talent with 0 iq not a good mix for a Nfl Qb.
I just sent this in to SNY on your behalf. Maybe if this gets some air time and discussion, it could grab some more attention and maybe get an action. Nah, most likely not.
Exactly.....what will he do when he is in another system, maybe with someone who has the experience in developing a QB.....a real OC.
Still would take any of them are the lowest points of their career then this mental midget, Mark Sanchez has been struggling for 3 years of his career now, does anyone not see anything wrong with this?
Do yourself a favor and look at the basic numbers: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/9269/career THEY'RE ALL BETTER THAN LAST YEAR. This is while he's taking an absolute beating courtesy of Wayne Hunter and the inability for his receivers to get open, mostly due to garbage play design.
Yup your right his #'s last year were great. Lets say he is good by comparing mediocre #'s to mediocre #'s your right.
Yup your right lets wait till 141 games, We should of also let Gholston start another 200 games it was to early to realize he was a bust. 41 games is such a small sample size lets stick with Sanchez till year 10 then we can finally determine if he sucks, hell give him a 100 million dollar extension now!!!! Wait maybe if we go and get Wes Walker along with Adrian Peterson along with the best possible player at every position on the oline along with the best offensive coordinator in Nfl history they won't be holding Sanchez back from the greatness he is destined to have cause every great qb but Sanchez has this.
Gholston didn't have a sack in 3 years. Sanchez is still, what, 10 games over .500 as a starter? There is no comparison. We're not saying Mark Sanchez has realized his full potential or has paid off his draft slot yet. We're saying it's too soon to give up, that he still can. The point is he hasn't stopped getting better yet. You don't abandon a guy who is still progressing.
