Lost in this debacle was a play that may have had an effect on the outcome of the game – either way it had me screaming at my monitor.

The Broncos had 3rd and six from their own 42 with 1:52 left in the second quarter. Tebow threw an apparent completion at 1:48, but came up short of the first down and the Broncos punted.

It took a while, but a replay finally showed that the ball had touched the ground before the receiver had control. It should have been an incompletion at 1:48. As it was inside the final two minutes a replay would need to be called by the booth. They had 12 seconds after that conclusive replay before Denver snapped the ball on the punt at 1:10.

The incompletion would have stopped the clock and given the Jets 38 more seconds to work with on their last drive of the first half. There’s no guarantee they would have done anything, but 38 seconds is a big chunk of time to lose in that situation.

How could that play not be reviewed?

Maybe that's why the Jets strangely didn't take timeout there...they were possibly expecting a review?

    That's a possibility.

The staff upstairs should have told Rex to throw the flag. That ball clearly touched the ground. Would have added some time and maybe changed their thoughts about not going down the field.

What kind of shenanigans could the Jets offense been involved in with 38 seconds extra?

That play cost us points w/o a doubt, we would have had better FP and about 40 more seconds BUT we still had a million more chances to put that game away and we failed.

how do you mean without a doubt.

Yesterday Sanchez had a higher probability of throwing a pick-6 than a TD. A FG could have happen but not w/o doubt.

Considering we got into long FG range w/ 40 less seconds and worse FP I think we could have gotten into chip shot range. rememebr, he was good on that drive and to open the 2nd half. he was in a rythm and we were moving the ball.

Not reviewing an obvious dropped catch really irritated me. But I don't think we would have gotten better field position out of it. The punter booted the ball into the endzone and if they reversed the reception he likely would have pinned us at the 10.

The point it is would have saved nearly 40 seconds.. not the field position

Maybe we don't get better FP but we get 40 more seconds.

Yes, I think I'd take an extra 38 seconds and sacrifice the 10 yards, but that's all hypothetical. We can't be sure what would have happened.

What annoys me is we didn't get the chance to see what Sanchez might have done with that extra time. It's a big chunk to lose. Was the guy in the booth asleep?
