Schotty was garbage with Pennington and Favre, Sanchez is not the reason he sucks. He sucked long before Sanchez came in. Cam Cameron's Miami tenure was laughable at best and were on the verge of history of being an 0-16 team. Both guys are clown OCs and neither deserve a job in the NFL.
He has a proven track record as an OC though He also doesn't have the talent the Jets have And I'm not saying he isn't doing a bad job with the Ravens, I don't see how that changes how bad schoddy is? Because he was the QB coach under Cam Cameron when Brees was good he is now a good mind? There are some coaches who are good offensive minds that were QB coaches under good offenses, McDaniels for example, but McDaniels proved he was a good offensive mind with results. It was his offense that led Cassell to succeed in NE, and Orton and Lloyd to hook up in Denver  Pennington - MVP candidate after Schoddy Favre - Back to legend after Schoddy Sanchez will have the same results When will it be schoddys turn to provide results?
brees is not coached by shotty now- he has a much better offensive coordinator/head coach and he's not in a dink-n-dunk offense, even without millions of dollars invested in wrs and tes.:breakdance: he also has an ol with a real rt.hmy:
Ray Rice? Anquan Boldin? either of those two players are better than any offensive weapon on our roster.
Sanchez play was questioned all night by the NFLN crew. He took too long to make his reads, overthrew wide open receivers, and basically showed that the game moves too quickly for him. Just watching him drop back and scan the defense, he seemed overwhelmed. The Broncos were a low pressure game on the schedule - a game they should have won easily. I didn't hear a single pundit pick the Broncos. It will be interesting to see if the Jets are underdogs at home against the Bills.
Not to mention they actually have a deep threat in Torrey Smith, good TE in Ed Dickson, and Lee Evans isnt any worse than Curley. Ravens have much more talent than this team on offense...
But our offense was NEVER as bad as it is now with Pennington and Favre under center, and we had WORSE weapons back then. Coles and Cotchery instead of Plaxico and Holmes are you kidding me? Pennginton had Kevin Barlow at RB in 2006 with an emerging Leon Washington. We never even had a TE in those years until Favre got Keller. And I would take the pre injury favre that got us to 8-3 any day over Sanchez. Same with Pennington. I have never seen a Jets offense as bad as I have with Sanchez under center, Schotty was OC for both Pennington and Favre, and those offenses with worse weapons (not to mention Mangold and Brick still getting their feet under them) were better than this offense. What is the main difference? The Quarterback. Not saying we don't need a change at OC, we certainly do. But don't act like getting rid of Schotty will solve our problems, it won't because Sanchez is part of the problem.
Anyone else pay attention to Sanchez whenever he was at the line of scrimmage and he yells "KILL, KILL KILL" and every single time it was a run play? The Broncos are not stupid either they knew too...Sanchez is afraid and This offensive staff is not helping him and at the same time 90% blame is on Sanchez
Unlike Sanchez, Pennington and Favre didn't start their careers under the brilliant tutelage of Schotty. Favre is a HOF QB and played well here because he's a great QB and because Schotty had to greatly re-work his O to make Favre comfortable. Pennington is a smart enough QB to either have succeeded in spite of Schotty or he's the only QB around that understands Brian's bizarre plays and schemes. In spite of that, Schotty and Mangini seemed to do all they could to drive the guy out of town.
Favre and Pennington didn't have the joy of learning under this idiot. The main difference is Favre had a great running game, and a much better line. He also had the authority and knowledge to tell Schotty his plays blew chunks and that he needed to tone it down, which he did. We have Shonn Greene and a 50 year old LDT running behind a terrible line, why do people think the Jets have so many weapons? We have good receivers but Schoddy doesn't know how to use them. Holmes is a burner and Schoddy refuses or can't design plays where he gets open downfied. Keller runs the same 3 routes all the time. Direct snaps to our 4th string RB  All you're doing is making more excuses for Schoddy, which I don't know why you are. Where are the results? The offense is always trash. I don't know of any other OC who's produced shitty offenses for 5 years and has been kept on as OC?
I also think when Favre didn't like something Shotty called, he would do whatever the hell he wanted. Seriously, what were they going to do to punish him?
I am not making excuses for Schotty, I just said he has to go, but I am not going to put 100% of the blame on him and ignore the other problems with this team. As poor of an OC as Schotty has been for this franchise, our offenses have been better under him with Favre and Pennington who all had fewer weapons than Sanchez does. With Greene and LT in 2010, we were 4th in Run offense, in 2008 with Jones and Washington we were 9th. We had a better Running attack in 2010, better receivers in 2010, but our offense was worse in 2010 than in 2008. What is the difference? The quarterback. Favre did more with less, and Sanchez has done less with more offensively speaking. Not to mention Favre and Pennington never got the security of the defense Rex has established. Remember when Matt Cassel threw for 400 yards that time? Me too.
Take it from a Dolphins fan, you dont want safe and average play at QB. That recipe = nowhere just the same as Sanchez. This thread is eerily reminiscent of Henne threads at FH. One faction saying he blows, the other faction coming up with the same excuses you see here (OL, OC, drops, ect.) Its interesting. People at FH swore Henne would get much better after we forced Henning out and it really didnt help.
I see where you're coming from, but Sanchez has shown more promise and done it on a much bigger stage than Henne has.
Tonight isn't all Sanchez's fault. He played like crap (like usual), but he had no help. The running game was awful, special teams were awful, and the offensive line was awful. He deserves more time, since he's only been an NFL QB 2.5 years, and he only started 1 year in college. Plus, we've invested a ton in this kid. We need to see him play out until the end of this season, and then take a serious look whether we want to bring in some competition, just in case he hasn't improved next season.
Thats true. Sanchez has had some great games in big situations. Ultimately though, he is just too inconsistent right now for the Jets to win a SB. He looks worlds better than Henne one night, then looks like total dogshit the next. Im guessing you guys keep him after this year, but next year should be his make or break year. You just arent going to win as often as you need to with the performace youre getting at QB, especially as the defense ages.
Wait...you mean hiring the OC from the one team in the league that scored less points than us was a bad idea?
Lol Sanchez was a 2nd year QB in 2010, Favre is a surefire legend HOF QB. It's foolish to compare those two at the points in their career that they're at Yeah I remember Cassel doing that, I remember Orton looking like straight trash in Chicago and a pro-bowler in Denver. I remember Pennington doing jack shit here and then being an MVP candidate with the Fins. A coach makes all the difference in the NFL, it's all about schemes that benefit your players, something schoddy can't do.
Get that meatball marinara head ass,. cover girl posing.. passion of the christ sandals wearing.. aroz con pollo eatin ass scrub off my team. Rex should of left him in Treasure island spotting planes
