Sanchez has never been a good regular season quarterback. He's a little better this season, but he's not improving quite as quickly as I had hoped. He's still young enough and not bad enough where you keep giving him time. He's one of many reasons we lost. The Folk missed FG, the defense choking on multiple occasions, McKnight dropping a punt, Wilson dropping an INT early in the game, there were a lot of plays we left on the field. The offense, including Sanchez, was a problem. The defense was a problem. Special teams were a problem. This was a team loss.
What better talent does he need? I mean I have been a big supporter of his, but I am starting to doubt him. He has 4 good receiving threats a decent offensive line and a 2 decent running backs. What do we need Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson on the outside with Adrian Peterson running? Sanchez is still good for 2-3 boneheaded plays a game.
That's become more evident when I watched the highlights of the game this morning. The game was very close until we shot ourselves in the foot continuously in the second half. It's not the end of the world, but it really sucks to get swept by the Patriots, and likely lose out in the division race yet again.
Sanchez has three capable receivers. ...one of them is a tight end that can't block. Jeremy Kerley is so incredibly overrated by this fan base. He is not a reliable target yet. Shonn Greene is a solid power back, but he's not even remotely close to being a solid checkdown option. There's no depth in the receiving corps or at tight end. The offensive line was far from decent last night. They were atrocious.
The most disturbing thing I could see from my perspective in 331 was Sanchez had 0 time. By the time he got to the top of his drop he already had to move. A few times he tried to hang tough and wait for someone to come open but that usually resulted in a sack.
You're wrong...Sanchez did have time, he got good protection. But the Patriots played 7 DBs and Sanchez could not do anything.
Are you shitting me???! Sanchez has plenty of impressive game winning TD drives in his already short career. He is not a consistent QB right now, but when have we had a better option? I wish he was playing better right now, but I am relatively happy with Sanchez so far in his career. If he doesn't improve over the next year or two then I'm ready to begin looking for his replacement... definitely not yet though.
Unfortunately, we have no other option. I am starting to wonder and question him though. Can't tell if it's him, Shotty, Rex, Tanny, or a combination of some or all. This is turning out to be a frustrating, disappointing year.
