I don't understand why its so hard for you to understand what I am saying. I would love for the Jets to go 16-0 and that would mean they are a great team. What I am saying is just getting in the playoffs give them a shot to win the superbowl which erases everything they do in the regular season. Great teams lose and decent teams win. It happens that is the NFL. Only a few more months until yankee season and you can go back to jerking off to pictures of Derek Jeter.
way to be a retard and only address one element of the argument. if you are too simple to address the entire argument, don't. you just made yourself look even more ridiculous than normal. everything you brought up has been addressed.
no, decent teams don't win the Super Bowl, that's what you don't get. how about you go back and look at the history of Super Bowls. you will find that the majority of the teams that win are great teams, if not historically than for that single season. and the teams with marginal seasons, like the Colts and Steelers, simply had down years within long stretches of great years. the idea that decent teams win Super Bowls has no factual basis whatsoever. and just because other teams had great seasons but didn't win doesn't change that. only one team can win every year, that doesn't mean only one team had a dominating season. like I said, you don't get more dominating than 15-1, but at the end of the day a 14 game team won the Super Bowl.
You Dont have to dominate. The jets are a solid team, not great. I think that's what allot of the discussion are about today. 3 years same oc, same primary core of guys, we should be better at this point. Looks like were going backwards not forward. While for years i would be just happy with the jets making the playoffs, Im fully bought into Rex Ryan's bullshit and now i feel we have an opportunity to win a Superbowl at some point. Personally im just disappointed in what i see so far this year.
Which dominate team is standing in our way from going to the Super Bowl? I dont see any...and if your going to say the Patriots are dominate, then your a clown because they arent. If we dont shoot ourselves the entire game we can beat them.
Im sorry but are you seriously retarded? Most and none are 2 completely different things. The Packers last year and the Giants 3 years ago were not great teams. They got hot at the right time. The Cardinals were within 2 minutes of winning a superbowl and they were called the worst team ever to get into the playoffs. Its like you just ignore everything I'm telling you. I feel like I'm talking to a wall. Great teams win more superbowls then good teams. FUCKING DUH. I'm saying just getting into the playoffs and having the right circumstances fall into place could put us in to position to win. I am done responding to you please go drink some bleach you fucking sojf woe is me ass clown.
Agreed, this guy is spewing bullshit. The 06 Colts werent even to dominate, 05 Steelers, 2000 Ravens were a wildcard.
I think your missing the point. you can make arguments that of course as anything can happen in the playoffs, but there were different expectations for this year. Even in losses at times you can tell when a team is really solid, we look schizophrenic every week. There is a difference between being good and great, i expected or wanted us to be greet. were a good team and that all at this point.
I've already refuted everything you just typed again. repeating an argument that has already been refuted doesn't change that it is wrong.
Well what were you expecting 14-2? 13-3? We can still go 12-4, but its a longshot. And perhaps the best team we had was the 09 team, we had the #1 Run game and #1 defense. Thats dominate. To bad the Colts were more dominate.
This is a complex argument that your not grasping(not being disrespectful) there a difference between good/great teams. record isnt so important you are correct. but you want to see allot more out of a team even in a loss if you consider yourself super bowl caliber.
Revis, when you and Soxxx are finished Sanduskying one another, please let me know which of these Super Bowl winners were only decent teams and not great teams. the best you can do is claim a team like the colts weren't a great team when they won it all simply because they had a down year by their standards. of course you would have to ignore the fact that when you look at that team's long stretch of success it easily disputes your assertion. the only shot you have is to say the Giants and last years Packers, because the rest were dominant teams either the year they won it or over a stretch of seasons surrounding their Super Bowl, indicating it wasn't a fluke of just a decent team getting hot. Green Bay Packers New Orleans Saints Pittsburgh Steelers New York Giants Indianapolis Colts Pittsburgh Steelers New England Patriots New England Patriots Tampa Bay Buccaneers New England Patriots Baltimore Ravens St. Louis Rams Denver Broncos Denver Broncos Green Bay Packers Dallas Cowboys San Francisco 49ers Dallas Cowboys Dallas Cowboys Washington Redskins New York Giants San Francisco 49ers San Francisco 49ers Washington Redskins New York Giants Chicago Bears San Francisco 49ers LA Raiders Washington Redskins San Francisco 49ers
This is ridicolous, theirs been 6 wildcard teams to make the Super Bowl since 1997 and ontop of that weve had mutiple average teams win the Super Bowl. 2001 Patriots, 06 Colts. Then we had the Cardinals almost win it 08. Thats 9 teams out of 14 seasons that were not dominate (I might be missing a few teams). I understand before that in the 80 and 90s their wasnt these suprise teams doing this, but the NFLs changed and average teams have a good shot now.
I am so upset over last night's game, I don't know where to begin. We needed to go out there and get a definitive win, since the Patriots were on the ropes and a loss against us would not only put us in first place, but would split the season series. Instead we get swept both games and we looked like complete ass on both sides of the ball. Honestly I don't want to hear a word out of Rex's mouth about how he thinks our defense is the best in the league or that our offense is alright. Fuck that shit, he needs to hold people accountable. We're having the same problems that we've had for 3 years offensively, and our defense has regressed so badly. It's like every time we have a damn game Eric Smith is getting destroyed. Yet Rex said this was the best team they've fielded? Hell no it ain't. Once he has these guys playing at an elite level every damn week then he can talk all the shit he wants, but I don't want to hear it now. We can kiss the division good bye, and at most we'll probably be the last seed in the playoffs if we can fix our shit and make them. There is no silver lining after a game like that, we just have to try to rebound and win week by week. That's it.
Last night sucked, very disappointing. But look at what QBs we have left on the schedule. Palko (Cassell could be done for the year) Tebow Fitzpatrick Moore Injured Vick Eli Beck/Grossman Except for Eli, there isn't a lot there. Vick is hanging by a thread so we could be seeing Kafka. Yes the goal was the division and thats gone which sucks balls. But we could end up 11-5 and then try to make our usual road playoff run.
nope, because even the teams you want to claim weren't dominant, like the colts, actually were a dominant team in the league. Just because they had an off year doesn't change that. great teams win Super Bowls, even if they don't have their best season the year they do like the Colts. but you have to ignore the season's around their victories to claim that they weren't a dominant team in the league. of course, that is probably too many variables for you to deal with. any attempt to claim that the teams on that list weren't dominant teams in the league when they won the championships is dishonest at best, ignorant at worst, but most likely just stupidity.
