NE is NOT an elite team. Yeah they played us good in a divisional game last night but the team is still filled with scrubs who will get beat if they make the playoffs.

Because elite teams are consistent. This will be the 9th year in the last 11 that the Pats win the AFCE. In the last 3 regular season games, the Pats are 3-0 versus the Jets outscoring them by a combined 112-40. In '09, the Jets were nothing more than a .500 team until the Colts and Bengals sat their starters in the final 2 games. A couple of WC and Division round playoff wins does not automatically make a team elite.

And that's not a knock on the Jets. But on two occasions (last December and last night) they had the opportunity to shift the balance of power in the AFCE and failed to do so.
You should wait to include this year, because a win and 1 game lead in week 10 doesn't make the Pats this year's division champs yet.
if you want to talk historically, the pats under belicheck have been ridiculously successful. if you want to speak about just the past two or three years, there's more of an argument for the jets. but if you want to talk about just this year, the pats have obviously pissed on the jets. i'd still say the pats are elite and the jets still have some ways to go. i hope to see it happen, but right now, the pats are a full step ahead. the jets have back-slid this year i think, a bit.
They are a class organization just like their classless fans and have been for a long time now. Remember them mocking the Chargers in the playoff game and they mocked the Eagles in the 2007 (i think) season. The Patriots way is a joke.

Very true and that's my problem with the Jets. They just can't take that next step. Even in 2008 when Brady went down. It was theirs for the taking and what did they do? Lost 4 of their last 5 and let the Division Title and Playoffs slip away. They had their big MNF showdown last year and got trounced and another big one last night with about the same result.
