so true or false? ... you said the same thing after they beat us 45-3 last year, right?

Of course I wanted to win the division ... but that goal is in the garbage.
I still expect us to win 10 or 11 games and be in the playoffs for the third straight year.
want to guess how many times that's happened in this team's history?
if you said once that would be once too many.

Just get to the playoffs and play your ass off when you get there. thats what this team and this fan base needs to be thinking.

Wouldn't his statement be correct last year too?

no ... it wouldn't be correct. unless you think that being one of the last four teams playing is not a SERIOUS Superbowl contender. Sounds like we turned out to be a serious contender to me.

This loss is not erase-able. We got owned by the New England Patriots in our house with the division and quite possibly the playoffs on the line. I don't want to hear Rex Ryan say the word Super Bowl again until the Jets are in it.

they kicked our ass no doubt ... and we also had a hand in it. after 45-3 there was no way we could beat them either ... until we did. Every game is different and it's ridiculous to think that we can't play with these guys ... who BTW were supposed to be finished themselves after the last two weeks. the overreaction to every win and loss is really comical. I suspect we'll see them again in January.

like Parcells used to say ... just find a way to qualify for the tournament.

It's definitely time to tone down the rhetoric, stop talking to the media and start working on an us against the world mindset.

Too bad you still have to win games.

That's where we seem to have a problem

I don't think there are any guarantees. Hopefully they get mad and tee off on Tebow Thursday night.

At this point 9-4 looks great, but that isn't the goal for this team. It was supposed to be about taking the next step and being able tl compete for the division, have a playoff game at home, and being one of the league's elite teams.

The jets aren't an elite team and seem to have more problems than the last 2 years.

while its pretty likely the pats finish 13-3, its not impossible they could lose two games down the stretch. if we are sitting at 9-4, we are still in the race. I said it before the game, we could win out after the pats game, which is why it was so important to win. Now the pats will probably finish 13-3 get the 1 seed and the 12-4 Jets will be sitting at the 5 seed.

The Jets only focus right now needs to be winning this game in Denver. We need it badly, and if we come out and play angry (which we should) we should control the game from the opening kick. Win this game, and get started on a roll

Jets gave up 17 points off of turnovers, and another 7 off of sanchez's stupid timeout before the half. If we play smart and turnover free it is a whole different game.

id be shocked if we won all 4 of those. i think we probably lose to buffallo, maybe denver depending on how the 4 days off + travel goes. im not saying we will lose 2, but i dont see us winning all 4.

and "running the table" is just insaine to think about. 7 straight wins when we havent played consistent at all this year? i think we certainly can get to 10 wins, but to think 11,12 is likely... i dont see it.

My worry isn't whether we can make the playoffs. My worry is if we make the playoffs, will it matter. This isnt the same team we had the last two years. We've gotten worse on both sides of the ball. Last two years we could mask our problems. On D, our great run stopping and corner play hid the fact that we have shitty safeties. On O, our running game and big play threats, coupled with the fact that Mark is a beast in the 2 minute drill, masked the fact that we have the worst O coordinator and our QB is consistently inconsistent.

NOW, it's like our problems are glaring and teams are making us pay for not addressing these things during the offseason.

I'm confused as to why we, as Jets fans, shouldn't be pissed the fuck off right now.

They had a chance control of the division and possibly the conference last night. The game was at home against their rival who was reeling.

    And they didn't show up.

Now, they have to fight tooth and nail the rest of the way just to try and be the fucking 6th seed again.

So fuck off with the "Hey, we'll win the next 4" bullshit. Great if they do. I actually think they will.

But last night's loss is huge so let's not downplay it.

Again, is that what the franchise should be shooting for? The 6th seed.

So we kissed the division and a home playoff game goodbye. You just got embarassed in a playoff game kind of environment at home against a playoff calibur team. A home playoff game looks pretty fucking useless right now anyway.

I'm sick of hearing about that timeout. The Jets didn't have to let the Pats drive 80 yards in 50 seconds after that.

They can lose to Denver. Don't play well there.
