Since Rex has been our head coach, I can not remember a time before playing the Patriots where Rex hasn't talked any trash or stirred up some controversy. IMO he usually does this in order to help take some of the targets off of the team/players and re-directs it to himself. This week, however, he has been oddly quiet and respectful to Brady and the Patriots. It makes me think that he is really confident in the way this team is playing and his game plan. Time will tell, but his change in approach has me both curious and optimistic for Sunday night! :gpc:ats_suck:
Maybe it's just me but it feels like the entire team is talking shit about Brady? *shrugs* And yes they're confident, they're always confident. This is the Jets.
Seems like you're not the only person who thinks they're quiet...but it's also by that asshole, Cimini.
He's got no time to talk shit this week. Jets have two games in five days coming up and one of them has a travel day built-in. He's working two defensive game plans at once and making sure the Pats get the Jets full attention at the same time. He'd be just as loud as usual if the schedule makers hadn't dropped the most important game of the year on a Sunday night followed by a Thursday game on the road.
I don't understand how they get scheduled for a Sunday night home game and then a Thursday game out west? Seems kinda ridiculous, but I guess they'll just have to go beat the sh*t outta both of them.
Yeah, this years schedule is all kinds of fucked up. Plus, what's with playing at Oakland every fucking year. (I know it's not every year, but the frequency is very odd)
they're already reeling, by him saying anything negative it doesn't help their cause. Jets are favored, and at a home. we usually talk smack when we're the underdog behind closed doors is another matter
I think the lack of trash talking is just indicative of how things have changed. When Rex first got here, we were the SOJ, and needed a culture change. At this point, we're no longer the underdog fighting for respect, but rather we're looking to deliver the killshot to take over division supremacy this year. I don't think with how the Patriots have been playing of late any public banter is necessary at all...I'm sure behind closed doors, theres not a man in that locker room who doesn't expect to win and win convincingly
I feel like there are just as many complaints about Rex not talking enough as there are threads complaining about Rex talking too much. What a fanbase.
Yes, good point. This Denver game is total bullshit but I feel there is no way Tebow is going to be able to read our defense. Though Denver is not playing at night, they are still playing on Sunday, three days is not enough for him to learn our defense.
