For those who follow the SEC: OM has released Coach Houston Nutt and AD Pete Boone, effective after the Egg Bowl (OM v MSU). Archie Manning is the interim athletics director although not by name, his title is "head of search committee" of new AD and new HC. Nutt was the longest lasting SEC coach since the addition of Arkansas and South Carolina to the league in 1993 and was one win shy of 100. Rumor mill has Peyton retiring and going back to NCAA ball as a coach or AD, although that applies only to Tennessee. Ole Miss again will wait for Eli.
Malzahn's great at what he does. He is also supposedly on Archie's short list. At the beginning of this season, Steve Mariucci was in Oxford and got on the jumbo tron against BYU to start the school fight chant. His name has been dropped around in some circles along with Hugh Freeze from central ark and am mix of has been coaches and up and coming coordinators.
