I don't really mean to get in the way of your argument here.. but don't you thikn your being a little overdramatic too?

If the Penn State players actually refuse to play for Joe Pa, they aren't going to be given this university face saving gratitude. Hell for most of them, i don't think they believe its a real choice. It's either play for Joe Pa, or im not ever suiting up for football again, something most don't want to give up. Hell for the seniors, thats exactly what it does mean.

These guys are still kids, most of them probably not even 20 years old yet. They cant make amends for the universitys choices, and they shouldnt be held responsible for things happening long before they arrived. But your point about it being a chance to do whats right, is right. Unfortunately the majority of the population will not do what is right if their own interests are on the line (see the number of people turning a blind eye to this as all the proof you'll need). So I think its a bit unfair to expect kids to do this, and throw away their dreams for this, when its something probably 80% of the country would not do in their shoes.

They can't make amends for what happened but they can take a stand against what happened and the actions taken since this scandal erupted into the national media. By saying we're not playing not only sends the message that they don't agree with the fact that Paterno is giving a pep rally on his front lawn like they're getting ready to play in the Rose Bowl and that they don't approve of the cover up by the university that they are supposed to be representing. They could stand up and take a stand unlike any of the so called leaders of that university.

Black? Their names were never released and I doubt they were all related.

Planning to riot? Really, somehow these kids got into college. They should be smart enough to understand that protecting a child molester isn't kool. Hopefuly it doesn't come to that but Joe Paterno isn't the victim here. It's not too hard to understand.

    I haven't chimed in yet.

Fuck every last one of them.

According to the CIA, there's a rule of 5 pertaining to a secret. For every individual you can confirm knows a secret, multiply that by 5 and that's how many people really know.

So around 300-500 people enabled this piece of shit.

If PSU kids riot tonight they'll bring more shame on their school. Yeah good move - riot because of the housecleaning in response to one of the worst sports scandals of all time! Way to think of your institution!

The President of PSU has resigned too. This is a guy who offered his "unconditional support" the other day - publicly to the press - to the two guys indicted.

Fucking insanity. These guys are all fucking morally twisted - more worried about the institution and Penn State football than the kids.

Paterno just fired, the old stump refused to resign until he had to be pushed at the very end.

So just to be clear, PSU has fired its highest paid employee. That's right, JoePa made more cash than anyone else on campus.

But I guess doing the right thing when it comes to molestation is still above Joe's pay grade....

I am not even slightly surprised that he won't be coaching on Saturday. I must say, however, that I am shocked that he wouldn't agree to resign and had to be fired. That reflects incredibly badly on him, and might destroy all of the good will he's built up for the past 50 years.

Hopefully they go on a witch hunt to find everyone involved and make an example of them.

This cronyism cannot be fucking tolerated. People in subordinate roles are clearly afraid to come forward to shed light on injustices in fear of the cronies using their power to instill fear and doubt.
