I don't know if you watch Justified, but that show took a while to pick up because of no set storyline. ...when it got going, it was damn good. Justified developed it's main characters though, so I guess that's not the best comparison. The writers for TWD need to pick up the fucking pace and iron out the mistakes. The non-zombified dead bodies in the cars and the fat zombie in the well are huge, unexplainable fuck-ups.
yeah, as i've glazed over this thread (i've not watched any of the season so i'm trying to not give spoilers while seeing if its shit or not) I couldn't help but laugh at those things. HUGE holes in the story line are never a good thing. and I don't buy the whole, "if you're willing to accept humans walking around feeding after death/you can accept minor holes" thing. Weak writing is weak writing. i don't care if the plot involves bi-sexual unicorns farting bacon. if the story has holes and you're not intersted, its shit.
When I want to be entertained, I don't need to think. When you go to a titty joint to be entertained, you sit there and think? I just want her to shake her shit, take the dollar and move on.
i dunno aobut the rest of you, but in that situation i'm thinking. thinking about sand dollars, or boats, or how much whisky it'll take for the skank to be beddable. ok that last one is situational, but i'm thinking. even though it wasn't directed at me... that's my answer and i'm sticking to it.
That's your opinion. There are some movies that are entertaining to watch for the 2 hours even if you know they suck. The great ones are the ones you keep thinking about and discussing afterwards. Since a TV series is an ongoing event and is a big commitment, I think it's a waste to spend time watching a poorly written and mindless show.
I will concede that had the writers gone with the comics it would be a far more entertaining show. The pace would be perfect, too. The entire ranch storyline could have been done in one episode.
In One hour? I don't know about that. I agree it could have been a little shorter, and they ARE dragging out the Sophia thing, but I just find it fun to watch. Call me brain dead, but TWD is the only thing that remotely entertains me after working at a shitty retail job all day, and it's relaxing to just watch the drama and occasional horror the show brings. Are there better shows? Def. Are there worse shows? For sure
So heard they will going on a few month hiatus after episode 7. Anyone else hear that or know what that's about?

It was the plan from the beginning of the season. It was supposed to be split in half. That's why the pace and the horrific writing has been so disappointing.
another ho-hum episode, but at least next week looks like something interesting might happen. I would be convinced the writers are making these characters fucking stupid and annoying on purpose, except they also continue to create dumb fucking scenarios to justify contrived drama. passing letters under the table like 16 year olds, especially after she just told the old man she isn't? are you fucking kidding me? of course, only way for whatever his name to head to the barn. had they just spoke about it the next time they were alone, which they don't seem to have a problem having that ability, she would have just told him she would rather blow him in the middle of the living room while every body else cheers on. everybody except the old man. and if you are going to shoot at Daryl, either miss him or blow his fucking brains out.
