    I don't understand that either.

Well, if you want to be really cynical, it's easy to think that he was told not to say anything else after he first reported it. In other words, it was swept under the rug, and he was expected to remain quiet after that if he wanted to keep his job at PS. Look how far the guy has risen in the program. Suspicious? Maybe.

This whole story is so messed up and it reeks of a big cover up by the PSU brass. Once reported, they had to investigate, report, and take corrective action. The fact that nothing ever happened despite EYEWITNESS evidence from TWO separate independent witnesses is shocking. PSU had better get out their checkbook because they are going to pay.

The real thing is how can the grad assist, who by the report was so shocked at what he saw and ran out and called his father, accept a position as asst coach where he no doubt has seen Sandusky around campus / the football facilities for the past 8 yrs and not do or say anything.

He was a grad asst in 2002 and hired as an asst coach a short time after his happened. Seems like PSU says we'll make you an asst coach if you don't say anything about this..

JoePa should've called the police, the assistant that witnessed this should've called the police. The whole thing is disgusting and a huge black mark on an other wise great university.

i think its even dumber people making excuses for Joe Pa.

one of his old buddies who still has access to university facilities.

even after the first mishap he was then allowed to continue on satellite campuses instead of penn st.

Paterno had a moral obligation bigger than any NCAA rules. he kept it in house.

lol then he shows up to a Penn St function in 07 with another child?

the police are involved what over a decade later?

its a shame someone such a legend has to be stuck in the middle of this in his twilight years but you cant tell me he didnt have any knowledge of this.

its hard to imagine Sandusky being the only culprit since this was obviously covered up.

an even worse disservice to the first kid was by the Grad Asst not pummeling Sandusky's face on site of first incident

Actually the moron who witnessed a child being molested should have collared the bastard in the shower, call the police. Then beat the living shit of Sandusky while waiting for the po po instead of thinking of his own ass. To know this...this monster got away with this for years is sickening. My heart hurts for these boys. JoePa could've made a difference. Bah...I don't know what to think anymore. You have kids playing their asses off hoping maybe someday to get into the NFL and this is what they have to face.

Well said Pam. This is just horrible, especially because it could have been stopped. Joe Pa let this guy walk around campus - hell the guy had a FACULTY POSITION after he quit coaching - meaning a golden parachute, probably teaching one class a semester as a professor of physical education, and all the time, he's molesting these young boys.

Sick. If you are running an organization and you find out someone has committed a horrible crime, do you tell someone, and then do nothing when the guy is still walking around, free? And who the hell is Paterno trying to fool saying "all I knew was it was inappropriate"? What could be appropriate enough about taking a shower with a ten year old that it would allow you to keep your employment at the university?
