I didn't take a look until just recently..... Lets just say, if we want to win the division, we HAVE to win this game Sunday night. After they play the Jets they've got: Chiefs @Eagles - This one will be tough Colts (...) @Redskins @Denver Miami Buffalo WOW. I've got think they will win AT LEAST 5 of those 7. That being said, we win Sunday,we're in the driver's seat, and our schedule isn't too much harder
off the top of my head... Vs. Pats @ Broncos Vs. Bills @ Redskins Vs.. Chiefs @. Eagles Vs. Giants @ Dolphins I think I might have the home/away wrong on a game or two, but thats who we have left in order.
10 - Patriots (Home) Sun night 11 - Broncos (Away) Thur night 12 - Bills (Home) Sun 1pm 13 - Redskins (Away) Sun 1pm 14 - Chiefs (Home) Sun 1pm 15 - Eagles (Away) Sun 4.15pm 16 - Giants (Home) Sun 1pm 17 - Dolphags (Away) Sun 1pm
yes, it's been mentioned several times by multiple posters (including myself) that the pats last 5 games are an absolute joke and they should steamroll those teams. it's why we wanted the giants to win so badly because only the games against us and the eagles were the ones that had a legitimate shot to lose. I could see the eagles giving that team MAJOR problems given the matchup, so lets hope for that. it's pretty obvious (and not really warranted of a thread) to say that this game holds the key to the division
Our schedule is: Patriots @Denver (Thursday) Buffalo @Washington Kansas City @Philly NY Giants @Miami I mean the schedule isn't too much different, but that 2 game stretch of NYG and PHI will be tough. Also, we can't discount the dolphins, I know they're terrible this year but you know they'd get up for a game against the Jets at home, especially if they can knock us out of the playoff picture
it's a little different in terms of how it's broken up. with the pats, it's a straight shot of joke teams to finish the season. Our cupcake games are sprinkled in with some Giants and Eagles, which will no doubt be difficult games.
This coming week could very well decide the season. Beat the Pats on Sunday, the Broncos on Thursday and 7-3 looking good.
the dolphins aren't going to give a shit week 17. Their fans will be rooting for them to lose to get a better draft pick, and they SUCK at home. Not to mention, the stadium will have more jet fans than dolphins fans (I Might go, actually). i don't care what they did to KC and how they almost beat Denver. The giants played them like they did Seattle (underestimated them), only difference is they won. they still suck and that's going to be an easy game. Matt moore is still having nightmares of David Harris.
Well, yeah. I mean they don't have a short week with travel nor do they have back to backs with Giants and Eagles, but in terms of opponents it's nearly identical
Compared to our schedule: @Denver Buffalo @Washington Kansas City @Philadelphia Giants @Miami We definitely do need this game against them. From an unbiased perspective I can definitely see the Jets winning 5 of these games. It would just be nice to knock off the Pats, and continue rolling having a not so unrealistic chance at rattling off a nice 8 game winning streak (Including 3 prior wins + Pats game). Regardless of their schedule, if we can beat them next week and continue our level of play...the jets have a shot at winning out. Although I feel like the Eagles are going to be a tough matchup for us due to the fact of their strong running game, mobile QB, and extremely fast recievers....If the Jets D has one weakness it has to be a QB that can avoid pressure and extend plays. This goes hand in hand with the dilfer article...with the Jets leaving a man open on most plays.. I would say they lucked out due to the fact that we play the Giants whom they have already gotten out of the way...and they play the colts. You really cant complain though, its probably the first time in the past 10 years that the Pats havent had a tough game with the Colts lol.
So Sunday is a must win for us because we have the Giants left and they don't. I don't like the Bronco's game only because of the quick turnaround (thursday after late game Sunday) and the elevation in Denver. That is a trap if I have ever seen one.
I think the timing of that Denver game at Denver with a short turnaround, long flight, high elevation is such bullshit and the NFL definitely screwed us with that one. However, not being a homer, but I seriously just can't envision a way Tebow beats our D. I mean, we have to contain McGahee (having a really good year), but if we can do that, is Tebow going to throw on our DBs? To those receivers? I just dont see a way, unless our offense craps the bed, but Denver's D isn't exactly the best. Von Miller is nice though
The scheduling of that game sucks. It makes me a little nervous. Clearly, we are a better team, but like you said: 1. Quick turnaround 2. Road game 3. Denver elevation 4. (Just my opinion) If we beat NE, good chance for a letdown I know Rex will do what he can, but I don't think it will be a cake walk. Either way, I just hope we beat the Pats and take over control of the division.
shouldn't really be worried about the Denver game. 4 days or not, Tebow against our defense is gonna be lol. I expect a lions-esque performance. He's going to be so incredibly confused and make some awful throws. he's going to have nowhere to run because his receivers will be locked up while everyone else is near the line of scrimmage. and this is coming from someone who went to the U of Florida when Tebow was there.
You never know - Tebow could actually work out quite well for them on runs... Let the Jets CB's lock up and then take off..... Won't be THAT easy.... Jets are better off playing a straight up offense with 1 Star WR.
I agree. You also can't dismiss Washington and Kansas City because sometimes those teams show up to play.
