EXCELLENT!! That is what I'm talking about. That cat used to go into the air like nobody's business. At the goal line he was always soaring over the pile.

I thought he was seriously hurt at first. When he was on the sidelines he looked like he was talking to the trainers about anything but football for some reason. If you can watch it again, do so. He looks like he's talking about donuts or how he misses making sand castles. He looked totally spaced but fortunately that was not the case.

Holy Shit ! That is like some WWF shit right there. Goodell would probably give the death penalty if they did that now. Kicking people in the face hahaha that's wild....

Please, let's not compare a man's sport to underwear soap opera.

Really? You're going to give the guy shit for trying to play as hard as possible and make every yard count? Fuck that. I'd rather that than some player (ie: Cromartie during the playoffs) pussy out on a critical play.

What that shows to me, is that he's willing to do anything it takes to get the job done.

Obviously he if he knew he was out of bounds, he wouldn't have done that, but it's so much easier to criticize when we're not on the fields and have the luxury of watching via cameras 100 ft away.

This post is exactly why I never minded Chrebet doing what he did in '02. The guy made it into the NFL despite his small stature trying to make plays just like the one in Chicago that, one time, unfortunately, didn't go right for us. As someone pointed out already we went into NE and beat them on Sunday night and then beat the Packers at home, which, yeah TakeMeHomeAndFuckMeEdGein, Chrebet had the dagger TD which propelled us to the division title. I should know, I have the back page from that Monday's Daily News framed.
A guy like Keller, though, a tight end, I wish he would have just lowered his shoulder and rammed into the defender, but whatever, I'm not getting on a guy trying to fight for every yard he can get.

It was a moronic play but not nearly as dumb as Wayne Chrebet tring to jum into the EZ from the 15 yd line at Chi(at Univ. of Illinois) in 2002.

That was the game of Leon Johnson's career, wasn't it? Sheesh.

Why wasn't that played at Soldier Field?

Yeah, he killed us. They were renovating Soldier Field that year so we played at Champaigne.

The Jets played terrible all game against the Bears. It was a terrible week where we had a big fight at practice. The holding penalty on Morton's KOR that brought back a TD. Chrebet's play - while being stupid - wasn't the reason we lost.

Chrebet's play cost us a chance to win. We were driving the for the tying score late and would have had a 1st down inside the 15 w/ over a minute to play. It ended all hope and I'm still stunned that team was able to regroup so quickly to beat NE the next week and give them a chance going into week 17 where obviously everything worked out.

There was no reason at all that Bears should have even been in that game. So many stupid mistakes besides the Chrebet play were instrumental in us losing that game. The Chrebet play was stupid as well and cost us a chance, but it should have never come down to that.

The only stunt worse than that, and the player's name escapes me, was some Redskin who head-butted the endzone wall after scoring at TD.

I agree, it was one of those baffling losses like Buf at home the year before or Indy 1998.
