Phil Simms was chronically injured until 1984. He came out of the tailspin after missing all of '82 and most of '83. Parcells really wanted him to work out but he couldn't stay on the field.
Obviously Im not saying we should have done that. I was saying you can't say Rodgers had a great rookie year when he didn't start as a rookie. He got 3 years on the bench before he ever played a game.
While were blowing cam lets analyze this games he played vs passing defense ranking 30th 31st 8th ? (wtf how are the Jags the 8th ranked pass defense, note cam had only 158 passing yards this game tho) 28th 16th (only had a 50% completion % and 16 completed passes) 23rd 12th (redskins) 29th So sure you can give cam props because he is doing a great job, but at the same page you have to realize that he has been playing SHIT defenses the entire season. Hell the only defense on that list that I respect at all is 16th (N.O) and theyre not great theyre just O K, and they were @ carolina not @ NO where they play significantly better I mean seriously the two best passing defenses he played vs this year are the Jaguars and Redskins, that speaks for itself. Sanchez had several games his rookie season where he shredded bad passing defenses (3 games over 100 qb rating, 1 over 90, several over 80), but he also got completely buried by some top ones. Its also worth noting that Sanchez simply isnt asked to carry to offense as much considering he had the #1 rushing attack by his side. By no means am I saying Sanchez is gonna be better than Cam, but to anoint Cam better than Sanchez for beating up on scrubs at this point is absurd, especially when you see that the Jets play calling doesnt favor Sanchez whatsoever
I understand what he's saying but I don't see why Sanchez having a more complete team around him should be used as a knock against him. we're not asking Sanchez to save this franchise we just want him to play up to his talent and win. Newton has to carry that team and he's been given more freedom.
Like I said wins vs stats is a dumb debate. Cam looks promising is an accurate statement at this point. His numbers if you look at the defenses he faces are not as important... BCUZ the bottom line is he loses consistently, unlike Mark.
just like Fatcessa...... you know he's a douche, so don't give him any attention. Eventually he'll go away
Interesting Twitter banter: MikeDuppNY Mike Francesa Wat kinda rahtarded ahticle is dis?! Wat has Newton won? 2 GAMES! Ya Lawst! #CiminiIsClueless @RichCimini Cam way ahead of Sanchez: RichCimini Rich Cimini@ @MikeDuppNY Read the whole thing, not just the headline. It might shed some light. @RichCimini Waitasekent Im NY's #1 I know how ta read What I dont know is how u keep writin dis gahbage Da jets ah classless, but yoor lawst
HA! It only took 9 years here for someone to call me that, I did pretty well. Can you support your hypothesis? I never BASHED Sanchez. I think at this point in time he is, at best, an average QB. The numbers support that. So do the wins, it's not like he has a division title under his belt. He had a great game today (second half anyway) and is still improving. He holds the team back with about the same frequency he bails it out.
Bump for blatant Cimini stupidity: "THREE DOWNS: QB Mark Sanchez. He committed two turnovers -- a red-zone interception and a fumbled shotgun snap. To his credit, Sanchez rallied, but he can't make those big mistakes now that the stakes are getting higher. He also needs to work on his blocking technique." Ass.
