A big grey slab of blah certainly is better than a blue and red tribute to another team, right?

The building actually holds sound pretty well, the peoblem is there are too many non jet fans in the building, in suites, in the CC,. etc... That building filled w/ Jet fans would be as loud, our louder, than the old one.

I remember watching that game on TV. My floor was vibrating.

yeah its nice that it is actually ours and not a rental like the old place. i agree with you there.

but you cant deny how truly unimpressive the place is at the end of the day, whether you are a giants or a jets fan. the place is not that great for what it costs and what they charge us.

and also, the corporate name SUCKS. i know just about every team does it now but who cares. it was awesome being the meadowlands and not a giant grey blah ad for insurance.

edit: and to you guys, if i didnt know i couldnt make it 3 hours before kickoff, then i would have def let people here know. i ALWAYS plan on going, so its rare that i have tickets to get rid of.

It's a big tin can but again it's not red and blue. The only things I really like about the new place are the name and the color scheme

Well, it's not ours. It's ours AND theirs. Secondly to build that stadium in NY with a roof to boot would have cost closer to 4 billion than 1.6 no matter what they may have said. The PSls would have been 2-3 times more and the yearly tickets would be at least twice as much..think there are empty seats now? It's the best outcome they could have ever hoped for.

You said it, that was the loudest game I've ever been to. New stadium is weak, coming from a season ticket holder.

Can anybody pull up that game somehow? (The 09 pats game) I was at it, would love to see what it was like watching on tv.

Sad but true. You would think that making sure all of the seats are filled would equal a stronger home field advantage which would equate to more wins and more demand for tickets and eventually more $ for the franchise, but I suppose they want to make their investment back asap. Oh well...

That would be nice. Seriously, I sit in some of the last seats downstairs, basically 1 group of seats away from the PSL section. So many empty seats in that section at all times. Like I said, they could be inside, they could be on the field, or they just might not be there.

It definitely seems stupid that they leave the best seats in the house to people who don't even have to sit in them half the time. I've been in the coaches club for a preseason game, it's neat, but it's not what I go to the games for. I was in the Touchdown club for the Dolphins game this year in the mezzanine. Sure, the area to yourself is okay, but I'm there to stand and yell and make noise. Nobody really seems to care as much.

That said, it is sometimes easier to stand and yell there. Mostly because you'll get 2 rows of people behind you with nobody in it, and as a result, nobody can yell at you for standing up.

I love the New Stadium. It fits this team perfectly, big and intimidating. I think it has a great New York City/Gotham feel.

The seats above the press boxes are tough though.

    Lower level rocks!

There used to be a video of our defense during that game, a bunch of cut-up plays from TV mashed into a 4 or so minute video. Gave you a good idea of the atmosphere, and just how dominant our D was that day. I can't find it though.

With the way the stadium is spread out I don't see how it could be louder. They should have looked at Qwest (or CenturyLink, whatever) for inspiration.

Friend of a friend works as a bartender in one of the club areas under the 50 yard line seats. He says the Jets games are way better for him because the club is always full with people buying drinks all game long. He says the Giants crowd is good pre-game and halftime but disappears once the game starts.

They should lock the club areas down while the game is in progress. Pretty stupid that they even have them in the first place. It makes sense at something like the US Open when you might be sitting through 8 hours of tennis, but people seriously can't sit in their seats for a 2 1/2 hour football game? Weak.

A lot of people, none of us die hards of course, go too football games for the event, a party if you will, not for just football.

the lower level and the mezz level are far superior to the rotten old dump with Blue GIANT signs on the outside

Fortunately, those of us who were stuck in the upper deck of that old craphole were able to deposit a relatively small amount (when amortized over the years we will be attending games there) to get great seats in those two levels where we can enjoy watching the game. And when we decide to not go anymore, transfer the seats to our family or sell them and, at worst get back 90 percent of what we deposited (or at best, even turn a profit on the transaction)

Those in the oxygen bottle level had that opportunity too so IMO they have very little to complain about now if they are unhappy with their view of the game

I've been to three games in the CC, and the food is so unbelievable in there I've missed a play live here and there to hit up the food...again. So would everybody. Trust me. It's that good. So you watch a play or 5 on TV. Everyone goes....they're not real fans! I'm a real fan!! When you get in that situation, you become them and it's not so terrible. :)

That Stadium gets pretty loud, it holds sound well. The problem is a qtr of the seats are empty, if that building was full of Jet fans I think it would be louder than the old building.

Anybody who sits in upper level miss the spirals/escalator?

The high school hallway steps in the new place are treacherous when leaving a crowded game...especially when drunk/tired

It was much easier to amble down the wide flat spiral or ride the escalator as opposed to now having to negotiate steep steps you can barely see because it's asshole-to-elbow leaving the game.

Well if you are a corporation or someone who makes a lot of money and can afford those seats its really no big deal if your there are not. I have to say I have not been to this new metlife stadium but from what I heard if you are just the average fan it sucks and if your a Jets fan with a lot of money its the place to go. Just what I have been told.
