I've only played MP so far. It's nice to have large scale battles and maps again (even if they do limit a large portion of it). Only thing is that the Tehran Highway map is laggy as fuck.
Single player is useless for this game, if you're looking for a game with a good campaign get Uncharted 3
On PC it's unreal, on PS3 I'm a bit underwhelmed cus the maps are fucking huge and there's only 24 players per game max Still sick don't get me wrong but man the PC version is unreal
It's pretty damn awesome on PC, but you better have a serious rig to play along. I rock a Core i5 2500K @ 4.2ghz and twin GTX 470's Sniping is too easy and makes it annoying to be other infantry.
Gamestop stopped accepting preorders to be picked up in store here so I had to order mine. It finally came in today. I was saddened that the preorder gun pack isn't great except in like 2 levels, but aside from that this game is the shit. Choppers are a little harder to fly but the fighters are sweet. Tanks are pretty fun this round too. Did anyone actually have to pay EA 10 bucks for multiplayer or did everyone's copy come with the free pass code? That shit is fucked up especially on PS3, but I didn't pay so I can't complain.
A new copy comes with a free online pass that can only be redeemed once. It's kinda lame but I don't dabble much into the used game market. I don't buy many games a year so when there's one I want that's out I man up and buy it.
I just went out and bought a Solid State Drive to better run this beast of a game. Amazing what a great game you can make when you actually develop it for the PC, instead of for consoles with 6 year old tech and just porting it over. Also, PC guys: Nvidia just put out new GTX drivers optimized for BF3. 6-11% improvement.
Just this game in particular. Other games like Call of Duty and Uncharted 3 have good campaign modes.
It's basically a flash hard drive, rather than a tape/spindle drive. very very fast, maps load in a blink. Windows boots in 5 seconds. And the Black Ops campaign was garbage, BF3's is better.
The friendly AI in the campaign mode is starting to wear thin on my patience. I can't count how many times I've heard "I'm taking cover!" only to be pushed out into the open in the middle of a fire fight. The hostile AI is pretty damn good, though. I enjoy what cahllenege they're putting up when they're not being helped along by my own fucking squad.
