Cowher is a Jets hater because he is a Chan Gailey fanboy. Every time Gaily is mentioned Cowher heaps praise on him, and he necessarily has to put the jets down if he wants to elevate Gailey's bills past the Jets, I guarantee that he picks the bills to beat the Jets even if the bills get thrashed by the redskins this week.
I think Rex fckd up by giving this team a week off during the bye. The man has stayed true to his beliefs and has lost every game coming off the bye week.
It isn't Rex's decision anymore, the new CBA mandates the policy now. Coaches must give teams 4 consecutive days off during the bye week. Teams are normally off on monday, so tues, wed, thur, fri, so all they have time to do is practice on saturday? and sunday is usually a game day but in this case a rest day I suppose.
The Pats practiced tuesday and wdenesday, then gave the team 5 days off ( 4 is mandatory) then started their normal game week practice schedule tuesday. A full week off is a bit much.
That's what I want. But Rex didn't do it and it annoys me. Same with him wanting to become a passing team in the offseason. Horrible move. I think they can change it this time because they'll be aware of the shit starts they have after the bye, but change it up a little.
Rex did make a great point in his presser though: The Bye Week is for the entire season, not just the upcoming week. He obviously believes that the positives outweigh the negatives of the extended time off.
Agree. It's just like Barry Switzer's SB win with Dallas. A gift from Jimmy Johnson. ANY coach should have been able to win a SB with what JJ left behind.
I love rex, I think he is the best thing to ever happen to this franchise but spare me the motivation from bad articles stuff. So this is supposed to motivate the Jets but when Rex and our guys talk it's not supposed to motivate the opponents?
after 2 years taking over one of the best franchises in the sport Cowher was 0-2 i postseason. after 2 years taking over the Jets rex is 4-2 w/ 2 title game apps, give him time. It's not like we are talking about Chan Gailey here.
Why wouldn't Cowher be a fan of Gailey who was his OC for a while in Pittsburgh? Gailey made Kordell "Slash" Stewart into a Pro Bowl QB who took the Steelers into the playoffs. This may come as a shock to Jets fans, but a lot of people inside and outside of the NFL don't like Ryan's big mouth. I suspect that many current and former NFL coaches think exactly what Cowher thinks. Ryan frequently comes across as an arrogant buffoon who keeps running his mouth but doesn't back his boasts up with results. Ryan needs to stop talking about how he would win Super Bowls until he at least gets a team into the Super Bowl, something he's failed to accomplish so far.

I guess he should stay quiet and have no expectatitons like Gailey this way when you win a couple of games in september they will throw parades for you?
I seem to recall these same fans irritated when the Jets dropped 3 straight. People were calling for Rex to shut his trap. Then, a couple wins later and all is fogotten/forgiven. WIN SOMETHING, then talk. The Jets are the Jets, they beat the Dolphins(Big whoop) and San Diego handed them the game with poor play in the 4th quarter(bad throw for a pick, and zero effort to try to win the game at the 2 minute warning). I am not impressed at all. Now if they beat Buffalo and New England in weeks 9 and 10, HELL YEAH...
