Now I can understand Mangini being used for analysing film but stuck watching ESPN this week and he is all over the fucking place offering analysis on everything from Tebows bible class to outspoken players.

To a guy whose resume is of stifling paranoia and generic failiure how the hell has this man become a media darling...seriously how!!

you act like the guy doesn't know anything about football.

imho the browns were better off with him than Pat Shurmur. yeah they're 3-3 now but they beat the 3 worst teams in the league in ugly fashion

Me too, I think it's silly to question Mangini's football knowledge. Sure, he lost the Jet team and flounder his last year, he left us with a lot of talent when he left in and he actually did a lot with the Browns in terms of personnel and I think they are better off after he left than before he got there.

A lot of people hate Mangini, but if you look at our team he had a hand in drafting a lot of our great players.

    Agreed.

Curious who would be more qualified to talk about games than someone who coached in the league, for two different teams, no less.

The problem with Mangini is he showed no personality as a coach (which he does actually have), so he was never going to get the benefit of the doubt once the team started floundering - either from the media or from fans. Same thing with Billy B, who's still hated in Cleveland but they love him in NE since he won there. And Mangini also got undermined a bit by having to cater to Favre his final year. He wasn't the first or last coach Favre wound up torpedoing.

EM is a good X's and O's guy and I think he'll be back coaching in the NFL one day.

If he didn't trade Jonathan Vilma we'd have a Superbowl by now. Despite him essentially getting us Sanchez and Edwards, he totally fucked us by trading Vilma. FUCK MANGINI

Vilma might be slightly more skilled than D Harris, which is arguable in its own right, and we'd need a B Scott-type's skill set to run this D so it's either Vilma or Harris. I personally am fine with D Harris and am not phased that Vilma is gone.

Also, I don't think Vilma is that big of a difference-maker that we'd have a title if he was here the last two years.

If the Jets had Vilma, that means no Shonne Greene.

I don't think this team would have gone to two AFC Championship games without Greene.

how stupid is this post. i don't even have words for it.

Vilma couldn't play in the 3-4.

    David Harris is way better

i do believe, hobbes, that folks such as archimedes, pythagorem, pascal, or any of the crazy math/science dudes would agree with me that u have actually listed three words instead of the advertised two. ;)

anyway on subject - EM has some good knowledge despite his young age. but translating that to the present day NFL player without all the paranoia was his ultimate downfall.

one wonders as he ages if he will learn from experience. if he does cool it with that psychology crap and just coaches - he will be successful somewhere.

Vilma is terrible in a 3-4. To say that he would even make one iota of a difference the last 2 AFCCG is beyond dumb. In fact I would say it is the most retarded statement I have seen all day.

Vilma would not have stopped Peyton from shredding the secondary in the 1st game and he certainly isn't stout enough to have any effect on the Steelers run game last year. Unless of course you think Vilma hanging onto a Mendenhall's jersey 5-7 yards past the line of scrimmage constitutes a difference making run stopper.

people who r bitter at mangini r dumb

sure the 08 team choked but his 3 years produced the best basis for talent the jets probably have ever had

If Vilma wasn't traded we don't sign Bart Scott. Not really that much of a difference between the two except Scott's a lot better suited for the 3-4.

It is comical that Mangini got us more talent once he left than he did when he was here. For that reason alone, nobody should be bitter towards him lol.
