You're being too kind. Outside of Scott Wilson as Herchel, it was pretty lame. That character will likely receive no development just like the rest of the cast. Andrew Lincoln was solid in the second episode, but the accent is still so terrible. I'm starting to doubt Robert Kirkman's ability to adapt his material to television...
Yep........... Maybe if they went all out Deadwood and allowed cursing, I may care more about these characters. They are basically either unlikeable or not interesting. I don't understand how they got seemingly the dumbest bunch of people possible to try and survive a zombie apocalypse. If I was them I would go looking for someone with an IQ above plant life. Btw they rendered the Asian kid useless, he was a character that had potential. When the most interesting character is the redneck crossbow dude, your show is in trouble.
missed the first 20 minutes of this episode, and after 5 minutes didn't give a fuck. the slow-mo horseback to the save the day belongs in a Twilight movie, not a zombie story. possibly one of the most ridiculous things I've seen on TV not trying to be ridiculous.
Ok -- maybe some *****MILD SPOILERS***** I thought the kid's performance as the vet was extracting the bullet fragments was pretty brutal -- in a good way. I bought it. That kid sounded like he was in fucking agony, and it broke my heart a bit. Andrew Lincoln's pain was evident. So honestly, that few seconds of screen time really uplifted the show. It elicited an emotional response in me -- so kudos, Karl. Shane and Otis are in a perilous situation. I think the whole, "fetch quest" side plot was a good exposition for some much needed zombie carnage -- so I think they'll be a ton of exploding heads in episode 3! I'm Excited!!!!!
What's crazy is that in the first episode of this season, the zombies in the woods seemed lethargic, barely running. In the next episode, they're the second coming of Carl Lewis, full sprints straight-away, up and down stairs, around corners. Maybe it's just that the country zombies are out of shape, and the city zombies have been hitting their local gym when not eating survivors.
the footing in the woods is more perilous than the flat concrete bliss found in the city. /nitpicking
Also, it sucks for the 2 guys behind the security gate that the only thing presently saving their ass is a very flimsy looking screw which is about to pop out.
hahaha...so true. If I were Shane, i would yell "HERE, EAT THIS!@!"...and push that fat guy towards the mob......and then make a run for it. It's not like he's friends with Otis.
it's the perfect situation. When he gets back to the farm, he could tell his wife that Otis couldn't outrun the zombies. His alibi is tailor-made for this.
Hey let's throw every single flare we find. Good idea. *Note: I thought flares last more than 10 minutes. Actually, don't flares last hours? Were they in the trailer more than 20 mins?
Breaking Bad is so much better than this. It's pretty shitty that AMC advertises so much for The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad barely got any kind of advertisement until it's fourth season. The Walking Dead will continue to be renewed because AMC is putting so much money into it. The ratings will hopefully die down if the characters and storyline continue to suck.
As much as I want to love this show, it sucks. The first 3 episodes were great though. I will continue to watch, however, for at least this season
I think this episode was better than the season premiere. Don't know why they're dragging out Sophia being lost though. I know it's early in the season but I'm not sure the showrunners have the balls to do this properly... certain people should be dead already.
PS - Even Breaking Bad has product placement. Pinkman was playing the video game RAGE 3 weeks before it came out. That was good placement because it wasn't "out of place".
