I don't expect Riley to be the "next Miles Austin " or replace Plax. I do expect not keeping an unproductive player on the roster. IMO, if Plax doesn't start making plays, he won't be starting and could be released. Players with guaranteed salaries have been released.

The only way the Jets are going to improve is by getting fresh blood into the line up. Kerley, McK & K Ellis are 3 examples of players that look to have a bright future and are starting to make contributions.

Keeping old retreads on the roster that aren't helping the team...hurts this team big time. I call it the "Herm Edwards Syndrome".....he never gave Cotchery a chance.

I was actually going to say McKnight has played better at WR than Plax has with the exception of that TD catch in the opener.

I concur; this league is all about upgrading your young personnel and the gelling of that personnel into the scheme.

In hindsight; the decision to let Braylon go, while it saved us loot, is currently hand-cuffing this team. Hindsight is always 20-20 and if we could have gotten him resigned for 3 years at 4 mill a year we wouldn’t have teams plugging 9 in the box with bump and run and one safety deep. WE NEED A DEEP THREAT; even if all he does is run fly patterns….

Yeah, Miles Austin is probably a better person to describe him as... If he could develop into something even close, that would be awesome.

I know the likelihood of that happening is very slim but the Jets have to find some sort of gold from a PS being that they havent in a while.

He has all the tools(not sure how his route running is, but he's still young, and not sure how great his hands are but they looked pretty good from what I've seen) and he has the size/speed combination that we DESPERATELY need.

Hope they decide to give him some snaps, probably not this week, but maybe send him long on a few plays after our bye. I would definitely prefer him that Patrick Turner because he isnt anything special at all

Schottenheimer still gives players a list of openers, about 10 calls they'll use to start the game and the first few 3rd-down calls. #nyj ventras

I just watched the Pats torch the Cowboys late in this past weeks game. NFL Turning Point on Versus is cool. The Pats' do things we dont.

if DeVito cant go perhaps this move brings MTV onto the 53 roster, and obviously DeVito would be inactive.

rodboone Kenrick Ellis has an ankle sprain, not a high ankle sprain according to Rex, and will be hanging around the facility all week.

Good for the rookie staying here, getting treatment and doing classroom work.

rodboone Rex thinks Calvin Pace is playing better than he has in the three seasons he's been the head coach. #Jets

Being healthy and not suspended helps.

Very encouraging to hear that. He can be a major part of our defense down the stretch. He'll be fresh, and we clearly can use some help against the run.

TheJetsStream Rex will give players off until Sunday. Coaches will have 3-4 days off as well. #nyj

I disagree with this. They better not come out of the bye week shitty this season.
