there is no outright cutting of Cro. they may cut ties, but he definately won't be straight up released.
I thought he gave up that one long pass, but he made several excellent plays. The tackle on the last drive was awesome. He's been huge this year. I'm looking forward to having him in the backfield for a long time to come. Could you imagine if the Jets could man up Revis AND Wilson? That would make this defense that much more dangerous.
our pass defense is just sick. revis and wilson blanketing everyone. cro is what he is. good and bad. they do this without a good pass rush either. it's really amazing. imagine if we can get rid of the blown coverages? guys running wide open because they just decide to stop covering. man our safeties can't fucking cover.
if we stopped blowing coverages, it would be unfair to opposing QB's haha. what was rivers passer rating? like a 40? what did he throw for? 124?
Imagine Wilson and Revis with a better pass rush in front of them. Wilson had a great play today. He's really picking up the nickel position well.
The talk of cutting/trading Cro is just silly. Cromartie is probably the best athlete on the Jets and you take the good vs the bad. Cromartie will continue to make some huge plays for the Jets this season, along with some bonehead plays. I'm the biggest Kyle Wilson supporter on this board and I'm happy to continue his play on the inside for the rest of the season.
I'm really starting to get pysched for Kyle Wilson, at his current progression I think he'll definitely beat out or match Cromartie if this pace keeps up. My only hesitation stems from him being a slot CB. Is being a slot CB easier or harder than playing an outside CB, Ie: could he translate this performance to the outside and cover Cromarties role if need be? (sorry, I'm not a football guru nor do I pretend to be one ha)
Is that his brother who posts on his board? I know I've read a few posts by a poster who claims to be his brother.
Not really silly its like with most positions. You groom a young guy up until he's ready to take the vets spot. Wilson is a cheaper option and could be just as effective. Cro is a better athlete but Cro is just like a light switch some times he's on sometimes he's off but inconsistencies like that will not help us win a Super Bowl. Also for 8mil a year you would think he'd be an all pro
Id rather keep Cro and have 3 great corners instead of a pick for an unproven player. Cro will fuck up at times but other times he will pick off the ball and make great plays. This defense needs that kind of ballhawk and big play ability type player. If/when we get a pass rusher I expect Cro too have a big time INT season.
Yeah we need that type of ball hawk but still when that balls in the air going at Cro its a 50/50 chance he fucks up. With Revis the opposing player is not getting a catch if so Revis isnt giving up the 1st. Wilson has quietly shut down each teams 3rd receiver. As for an unproven player look at Rex's draft history we have only chosen a couple questionable guys Ducasse- who was raw to begin with Powell- hasnt played yet McKnight- was picked for Sanchez McElroy- was the best rookie QB in the pre-season Sanchez- is our franchise QB Ellis and Wilkerson- they are 2/3 of our future D-Line Wilson- might be our future #2 corner McKnight- is our KR and future 3rd down back Kerley- is our slot receiver and PR Conner- is a top 10 FB already We draft very good so trading a CB for a 2nd rounder while already having 1 to replace wouldnt be bad especially when we can add a Webb or Ball who are used to playing in our system. Just some food for thought. I love Cro tho he keeps me watching
