sorry I fucked up, I was travelling this weekend and wasn't able to get the data for the updated spreadsheet
Upper Deck was hovering around 50 to 60 bucks at noon on Monday. Then by 5 pm they went up to about 80 for the cheapest seats.
i could never be mad about you missing a week, the work you do just for all of us jets fans to find a barometer of what is going on with ticket prices is worthy of poster of the year!
People were holding out for the Chargers game which seems to be selling well. Only 1,328 tickets or so left, which means we should have a sell out. Can't wait till Sunday, I will be taking my little ones to their first regular season game of the season.
Sunday will be packed. I have tons of friends who go to 1-2 games a year who had this game marked off for a while. Ticket prices have held pretty close to face in the upper deck. Nice weather in October and San Diego is 4-1. Also the Giants are on the bye. Also our first day game in over a month.
Hello boys. Took a few weeks off from this thread, disgusted by the beating and humiliation of that Ravens game. But I'm back now. But 227, weren't you one of those looking to buy extra "Season ticket holder" hats? Aren't the hats the only benefit left of season ticket ownership? LOL Just kidding... You're exactly right of course. The other day I was thinking about this, and realized that with Stub Hub, web ticket sites, etc, the Jets themselves have become the scalper, the broker, and the ticket dumper. It is a short-sighted way of doing business, and its removed season ticket holder "equity". The PSL was the theoretical "wringing the water from the washcloth" removing the last drops of season ticket holder pride, prestige and this perceived equity. They did it under the disguise of "investment" which it once was for tickets - before they became unreasonably priced. We've beaten this topic to death. Let's get back to knocking the stadium... Last year I was on record as saying the only thing i liked about the upstairs seats was the one concession stand I found at the Pepsi corner that had excellent beer taps at the EZ edge - near one of the stores. They sold Murphy's Stout, Brooklyn Lager, Becks and others at rip-off prices sure, but, when paying too much why not at least get quality? Wouldn't you know it - those same taps this season are now the basic bullshit beer. I asked the lady what happened to the good beers from last year, and she remembered they were there, and said "you're right, they aren't here anymore and I don't know why" So, I'm back to toss out another gripe. Has anyone noticed bathroom improvements or any improvements so far in 2011?
It figures they would eliminate the quality beer. Much better to sell the cheap shit at ridiculous prices because the profit margin is better. Will it ever end?
They didn't eliminate it entirely since they have the gimmicky "Beers of the World" stands, but they are carts, opposite the real concession area. Longer lines. They may have just moved them, though I doubt it. I need to take a long walk around to scope it out though it seems there are LESS beer choices than last season. Looks like the Pepper and Egg carts are no longer around either. Won't miss them. I had a Taylor ham and Cheese last season - that was pretty good. Anyone ever try those Nona Nanna meatball sandwiches? Do they suck? Any noticeable changes concession-wise that anyone's noticed?
If the stadium is so terribly horrible as most of you seem to portray it why even continue to spend your good hard earned money to go to the games? :jets:
I think many guys are already asking themselves this very question and/or will be asking themselves this very thing after this season is over. And this will not be because the "stadium is so terribly horrible," it's going to be about the money vs. the experience or money vs. value. I don't expect defections in droves from the PSL sections because these are fans that are locked in no matter what, but I expect mass defections in the Uppers. Huge walk-away numbers, especially Rows 10 and beyond. The Jets have beaucoup seats still available and/or many more that have gone to wholesalers/scalpers who are now flooding the market with seats at 50% below face or people who are kicking themselves in the ass and trying to unload at any number. Buyers are able to cherry-pick games without the annoyance of having to pay for worthless Preseason bullshit, and they're doing it at well below face. And all this is and has been happening in a supposedly "winning season" in which we supposedly have a legitimate shot at the Superbowl again. Witnessing what is happening now on the field, prices are and have been plummeting. And I fear this is only the beginning. If this team finishes 7-9 and it appears we have some heavy work to do to bring it back to a .500 team, the plunge in demand will be devastating. It won't take a rocket scientist or Rhodes Scholar to figure out that he can give up his Row 12 seats in the corner or EZ and just wait it out for next year. Then he can either tell the Jets to give him UD Prime or take a fucking hike. He'll be able to cherry pick the nice games he wants and buy themn at well below face and not have to pony up for the cockamaie Preseason nonsense.
The master plan is to get all of the burping, farting upper deckers to leave. Selling bad beer at high prices is one step in that direction, to finally fill the stadium with white collar, high salaried fans. We can only pray that time comes soon. SAR I
is this the tool from jetsinsider? ignorant comments so i have to assume this is the one. is he rojf in disguise?
So I have been helping my dad sell Giants tickets, and its so sad on every website Giants lower level endzone go for 225 jets are around 175. Jets fans need to sell there tickets for more we all controll the market!!
The problem there is that half of the LLEZ is controlled by Firefraud and no one wants to be near the Human Game Distraction. Bad enough they have to pay over $100 to sit in an endzone; to do that and have some aging retired fireman stand up and treat you like you're not a fan is too much to deal with. SAR I
