They have played 2 really good teams - both on the road. They lost both. They have played 2 decent teams - 1 road/1 home. They won the home game. They have played 2 bad teams - both at home. They won both games. Most people wouldn't call Dallas "crappy." And the road losses to Baltimore and NE are brutal matchups. The only game they lost that you might say they "should have" won is the game at Oakland. But to draw your conclusions from beating awful teams and losing on the road to elite teams, all over just a 6 game sample, is silly.
Do people REALLY think New Englands defense is one of the worst in the league... Come on. Maybe they put up so many damn points the defense gets to play back but, they seem to get the stops when they need them and with an offense like that, that's all that matters...... Hey, If I'm Bellichik I LOVE the talk about my defense sucking hoping people take it for granted.... You really have to throw out the Ravnes game if you want to analyze anything Sanchez IMO.... I don't see a QB in football, not even Brady that succeeds in that situation.... That game should have been quick slants or Bust.
Can't agree that the return to g&p was wrong. Sanchez can't be the best qb he is capable of being without a legitimate play action game, which requires a viable run threat.
For play action to work really well the opponent has to be expecting the run. The linebackers need to be reading run and then over-commit when they see the fake. The safeties have to be thinking run support and then take the fatal step up up on the fake. If you play action when the opponent is not expecting the run all you do is increase the chances that an edge rusher gets to the QB because the back who would normally be chipping him is going up the gut instead.
For the play action to work we don't need to G&P, we just need effective running when we do run. Throwing downfield will make that easier. Will also open better screen options, right now we're lucky to gain 2 yard when we do throw screens. While our opponents break off 12 yard screens at will it seems.
Actually that's not true. IIRC early in last season, Sanchez had 8 TDs before he had his first pick. Its THIS season where he is worse to start.
I will not discredit anything positive that Sanchez does for this team, but stats at times can be misleading. I have watched every game this season and despite the numbers Sanchez has looked like a average QB.
He had a better start stat wise last year but I'm comapring his current #s to his overall #s a year ago.
-His OL has ALL the same guys as last season, except Woody. He has the same receivers except for Cotch and Edwards, and just about every Jet fans here has proclaimed adding Plex and Mason/Kerley was an upgrade. The RBs are the Same, the TEs are the same. OTOH the Pats have had to replace 3 of their OLmen, 2 of their 4 RBs. e\and one receiver. The only difference is the above offence DESPITE all the changes is the best offense in the league and the Jets have one of the worst. Eventually Jet fans will start to realize that its not the OC, its not the OL. Its the QB.
All of his WRs except his number 2 receiver and the receiver he has been around the longest. Mangold was also injured and that was when our O line was playing absolutely terrible.
EDWARDS & COTCH were his go to guys. Sanchez is young and is NOT Tom Brady, so this is a HUGE deal. Lack of running game. Look at Schotty's history, it's all there for you to see. As I mentioned earlier when Braylon came here his first game in Sanchez's rookie season he made an immediate impact, Plax has failed to do that. When are the moronic outsiders going to realize it is NOT SANCHEZ's fault. Rivers is playing worse than Mark but there's no uproar there. Why do you mother effers love to hate on Sanchez? Being outplayed by a Sophomore at home in the playoffs must hurt, but enough already.
His handle is patfanken. He's going to hate on Sanchez or try to for the rest of his career. He's got to get started now because the "Pats were nothing without Brady" arguments are going to be rolling for decades after Brady retires and the Pats sink back into the muck.
Ok. Say what you will. Until you can beat the good teams at their house, you won't be challenging SB.
It's fuckin pathetic how every single opposing team fan/player hate on Sanchez. It's gotten to the point where I I avoid all sports related shows, even after beating Peyton and Tom on the road in the playoffs back to back there were still numerous Sanchez haters. Brady is great, but even now Belichick is still in his ear after every series. Look how well Cassel did in that system when Brady went down. I'm in no way saying that Brady is bad or anything close to that. What I am saying is Tom is the product of a good system, never more evident when you drop Cassel in and barely miss a beat. I guarantee if you put Sanchez in that exact same position that Cassel was in he would perform as well if not better. Besides that, look at Tom's 4th year in the league, 3rd year as a starter, Sanchez is on track to have a very similar season. AGAIN I KNOW MARK IS NO TOM BRADY. When it gets down to it, I don't give a fuck about stats, what random assholes have to say about my QB because I know that THE motherfuckin SANCHIZE will always come up big in big spots. (we can still say fuck here right?)
If anything, Baltimore [owns] Jets number, and it doesn't bode too well. Other than that, Jets under Rex will be able to cope with nearly any team in AFC, especially come the playoff season.
Last season was uglier to me, I don't mind going out and letting our Franchise QB try and do his thing. Sure it was damn ugly, 2.5 second average to the QB will do that. I just wish Rex didn't shy away so fast.
The OL as a unit is playing significantly worse than last year, and that is not debatable. He has one returning WR from last year, and Keller. If you actually read the posts here, you would see that most of us were not happy about this.
