I originally thought Revis might have gotten away with one on the pick 6 but Marshall definitely tripped over himself and fell into Revis. If that is pass interference guys shouldn't even run routes they should just leap into the corners chest and move the ball that way.
its the ESPN MNF effect which has a wider audience. Gruden kept repeating it over and over throughout the game so this was sure to happen.
true but what about the jersey grab? i kinda thought it was PI, but Marshall was pushing off him and it wasn't called. they were just letting them play
scanning thru the article again, just realized he didnt mention the name of one specific coach or team or anyone at all that has said this to the ref... doesnt mean its not true but theres not much validity to this article... this year more than ever the media is pissing me off, and not just this article... i get the paper every morning thinking, 'i wonder what jets quotes will be taken out of context today'
Seemed like the jersey grab was to keep his balance while Marshall was falling into him. No way that can be P.I. When the wr is that out of control. The only penalty you can really call there is offensive p.i. Because Revis was looking at the ball and Marshall stumbling was impeding him. that would have pissed some people off.
exactly, there's incidental contact, the ball comes out, revis' eyes are locked on it, and marshall is fumbling around trying to recover. the gif in the nfl thread (i think James Calvin posted it) shows it perfectly.
Marshall trips, his shoulder is in Revis chest, Revis looks at QB and takes the ball for a TD. If anything was going to be called, it should of been off. interference.
I assumed the way people talked about it that it would be a PI. It seems Jets fans are the only ones who think it isn't PI. There's a lot of contact there, but Marshall trips and lowers his shoulder into Revis. Revis might grab a tiny bit of jersey at one point, but that's because he's got Marshall trying to plow into him. He's got his eyes looking at the ball the whole time. I would have been pissed if that was a flag.
It looks like Marshall was trying to plow through Revis and knock him down to draw a flag...probably works against most corners
Marshall didn't trip. he deliberately drove his shoulder into Revis. I guess he thought he would knock him off balance and get some separation. nice try but instead, Revis pimp-slapped him on national TV
Everyone else heard gruden going on and on about how it was a penalty so they will take it and run with it since everyone outside of jets fans is trying to find a reason why Revis isn't the best corner in the game.
I love how everyone is screaming about him moving Marshall on that play. I was at the bar with a higher up for a company we represent. Real nice guy we get along great and hes a Pats fan. He mentioned he thought Revis mugged Marshall. I said "you see how Marshall ran that route? he started putting his head down running at him. At that point if I'm Revis you move him out the way and make a play on the ball" he basically agreed. end of my boring story.
At first glance, to a Jets hating fan, it could have appeared as pass interference. To any neutral fan or anyone with half a brain....there was no way that was PI. Revis never initiated the contact and he kept his eyes on the ball the entire time. Marshall went out of his way to drive through Revis, almost fell over, and never knew where the ball was. No brainer.
The Hypocritical stance that most Jet fans take is just HILARIOUS. If Marshall had been playing for the Jets, Jet fans would be keening like the whiny b!tches that they are. There would be multiple threads decrying how the officials are in ...... (fill in the blank) pocket, and everyone hates us. . (BTW - a little less so here, but at JI, it would have been the main thread for weeks  ) Well you are right about the hate part, but the fact is that Revis, as good as he is, gets away with more jersey pulls, and contact past 5 yards, than any other CB in the league. The Marshall play MIGHT not have been PI, but the fact is that most DBs in the league would have been flagged for it. BTW- I'm not b!tching about it. It is what it is. And its unlikely to change. My point is, not that Revis gets the Michael Jordan treatment, but how Jet fans complaining that other other fans "just might" be pissed off about it; while at the same time complaining incessantly about every call that goes against the Jets .....real or imagined. Just too funny
YES! Revis actually sidestepped marshall and went after the ball to avoid "impeding the route of the reciever" which got called against us in NE on that 3rd and 25 pass to Gronkowski. Bottom line if you watch the game Marshall came out and played REAL PHYSICAL. Besides the fact that he openly stated he was gonna play like a jerk off, he could have been called for PI on a number of his receptions. IDK if anyone remembers the comebacker in the 1st quarter that Marshall pushed off Revis to get seperation. The refs missed that call and clearly saw Marshall was playing without any composure. If the reciever is going to initiate contact down the field on every play, how do you expect the refs to make a questionable call against Revis when hes attempting to get out of the way. Revis plays too smart, and he mentally breaks his opponents.
see.. here's the thing. most of your posts, including a majority of this one are reasonable and ok... but there's that little jibe in there that's the reason why you get into it with the likes of another poster here. you want to post on a another team's site, great. go ahead. you normally offer a good counter opinion. but to make a claim like jet fans being whiney bitches, note the lack of a sample size, well you're asking for shit. and you're coming off much less intelligent than you're past has indicated. so fine you want to mention calls that go revis' way, you wanna talk about how many bullshit calls brady has gotten over the years? btw i'm not bitching.
