I hope the Rams get the number one pick, stand by Bradford, Luck declares and St. Louis holds a four month E-bay style trade-rape auction.
I wonder if all the 72 Dolphins will drink champagne and celebrate their joke of an undefeated season while the current team goes 0-16?
Thread should have been closed after this comment. If we were in their shoes i for one would be wishing for the same thing.
You weren't here in 2005 when a good portion of our board was rotting for us to lose so we could get Reggie Bush.
Not just the board. I was at the SNF game late in 2005 vs (ironically) the Saints, we lost at the end on a Nugent missed FG and the crowd was chanting for Reggie Bush, thinking we just got a leg up.
Yeah, we ended up better getting Brick and Mangold in the first round, and Leon in the 4th who was better than Bush anyway. Man, that Brooks Bollinger era was not for the faint of heart, was it? And people are bitching about the team now?
I'm happy our standards are higher but it is comical seeing people whine about Rex and Tannenbaum. This is the greatest time in the history of the franchise to be a Jet fan.
Take a look at the last decade of #1 picks. 50% of them aren't even with the team that drafted them. If the Dolphins admittedly tank the season, he should absolutely demand to be traded. That would be awesome. The Rams would benefit far more than whichever team ended up with Luck. I can't speak for others, but I would never root for my team to lose. A high draft pick is a consolation for sucking, not an incentive. Anyone who roots for a high draft pick is a grade A cunt. For the record I attended just as many games in '05 and '07 as any other year and never stopped pulling for the Jets to win.
If I was a phins fan I would be praying for them to get the #1 overall draft pick - sure when you watched each game individually you would want them to win that game - but come the end of the season I would be pissed off to be picking #2 overall because we won 1 or 2 games instead of 1 fewer - sure Luck may turn out to be shit but as fans on draft day you have to hope that he is going to be another peyton manning.
What a wonderfull dick punch this would be to Fins fans: Suck for Luck! Uh oh, Luck thinks you suck! Now you're fucked.
I doubt Luck would balk at playing in Miami. It's places like Indy that guys don't want to go to. That's why I respect Peyton Manning for going to the team who drafted him rather than let daddy make a mockery of things like he did for Eli.
Yeah but if the top 5 stay the top 5 in the running it becomes about where he DOES want go the most. Once Elway gets in his ear it might be game over.
San Diego is a real nice place to play and live too, yet Eli wouldn't go there. The Chargers had had 8 years out of the playoffs with a 43-85 record at that point, but if the Dolphins do get the #1 pick, that will mean they will have had an 8-year record of about 47-81 with 1 year in the playoffs - not too different. It's pretty clear that the overwhelmingly high probability is that he'll go where he's drafted, since virtually every player has done so, but I don't think Miami, with the pressure that comes from its 12 years in the post-Marino wilderness and its 38 years since winning the Super Bowl, is necessarily so attractive.
this but look at who started this thread. personally, I think soxxx should have his "Post New Thread" button disabled by the Mods
