http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/8110/jets-steal-wr-from-broncos-practice-squad By Rich Cimini We've been discussing the acquisition in other threads earlier today, but in my opinion, it deserves it's own thread. Eron Riley could very well be the field stretcher that the NYJ offense lacks. He's 6'3 210 with 4.3 speed and a 40 inch vertical. Raiderjeaux would be jizzing in his pants if the Raiders made this move. At Duke, he averaged over 20 yards per reception. That tells us he can get behind opposing secondaries. I've seen comparisons to Miles Austin. From a purely physical standpoint, that's a very fair comparison. Production wise it's a completely ridiculous comparison. I'm excited to see the front office doing something to improve the passing offense, even if Riley's just some unknown, unproven prospect.
^ I was just about to post that youtube video. He's a YAC machine. Thad Lewis underthrows him quite a few times too.
Looks like a decent pick up to me. Plus it doesn't look like he has a case of the dropsies unlike a few of our receivers this year.
throw em on the field, and have him sprint. if hes open chuck it. cant hurt. faster than turner by his 40 time
Seems like he was their David Clowney. Preseason star, not good/not given the chance in the regular season.
Some Bronco fans are not happy at all and want him to be promoted to the 53 man roster or the Jets to cut him so he can sign back on with Denver. http://www.broncosforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=299100
havent seen him play but from a physical standpoint sounds like the type of guy we need... hopefully he could turn some heads on the PS and make the team by the bills games... we desperately need to stretch the field
I remember watching a Duke game a few years back, to check out D-Ware's favorite player Vince Oghobaase (undrafted) and Riley made a few big plays. Riley has potential, let's hope the Jets give him an opportunity. We sign so many players and never give them a chance.
seems like he could have been promoted to the Broncos roster after trading Lloyd. Makes me wonder if the problem is with him or the Broncos staff.
